Rex is "proud of Buffalo's penalties"...

Rex should be proud, in 4 weeks he has coached his team so that they now have giant target on their backs from every ref in the league, well played.

Equally as problematic was the tackle attempt on the game clinching TD pass. Despite the announcers fawning over Eli's great decision, he did exactly what Buffalo wanted him to do. And it would have been fine except the defender went for a kill shot instead of just making the tackle. Had he stayed on his feet, it would have been no gain more often than not and a short conversion the rest of the time. Instead, he made a totally unnecessary dive that was easily shrugged off.

Don't beat 'em, hurt 'em! Stupid, stupid team. And we haven't even gotten to their goal line offense, you have to wonder if they even practiced it during camp.

If Rex had the choice, he'd probably choose losing with bluster over winning with poise.

I can't find the tweet, but ESPN Stats claims that the 47 total penalties penalties committed by the Bills are the most a team has had through their first 4 games in 10 years

Some fans are just slow when it comes to this guy. He's a media stooges dream and says all the things fans want to hear. Especially ones who are looking for change in their franchise. To me it seems like the defense has taken a step back, not forward.

I admit, I used to think that Rex was a pretty good coach. I thought he was hamstrung in jersey by poor GMS who didn't give him any good offensive players. Despite that, Rex's teams always seemed competitive (especially against the Patriots) and his players never gave up on him.

But after seeing the Bills this year I've changed my mind about Rex. The undisciplined players, Rex admitting that he was still thinking about the Patriots 2 weeks after the game, and now him saying that he doesn't mind the penalties....all signs of a poorly coached team. I think that once Rex is fired in Buffalo he will go back to being a defensive coordinator.

I agree, and I wonder if the firing will be sooner rather than later.

Hopefully it will be sooner as I tired of his act a long time ago, and I want to see his BB-stalking ass out of the AFCE.

The idiocy in Buffalo continues, and Rex continues to provide comedic relief of his inability to manage a team..of course he takes a dig at the officials, does that effect the integrity of the "Shield"???..

"It is more probable than not" that Rex will continue with his rhetoric, how many personal fouls does it take for Rex to take a player off of the field???.. It is easier to blame the officials than to take responsible for crappy coaching.

Can you imagine how pissed BB would be if his team averaged 104 yards of penalties per game??..

“I’m proud of the way this team played. Can we play a lot smarter? Absolutely. But I’ll take a team that’ll fight over a team that will sit back and take it every day of the week and bring on the next team. Give me a team that’s got some fight and will compete to the very end right, wrong or indifferent no matter how good the officiating is or whatever.”
Can this guy ever end a sentence without saying "or whatever," or "and things like that," or some variation? Listen to a press conference of his sometime if you can stomach it...every single answer.

I feel some sympathy for the Bills fans. They didn't deserve what they had handed to them. I wonder which team will bring him in next?

Have you ever actually MET a Bills fan in person??? Of COURSE they deserve this.

Those assholes wanted Brady? They sure got him. ****ing idiots...

That's an interesting observation. Its as if he doesn't have the courage to let his accusation stand; he needs to soften it and distract from it with the phrases you've noted. It turns the statement into a drive-by. More bullying psychology in evidence.

I actually think Rex walked into the perfect situation with the Jets. He inherited a great defense, with this generations best CB, and had a strong running game with Thomas Jones, not to mention a top 10 pick, and the Pats were rebuilding. If you look back at it, the Jets got worse and worse each year...

Looking at it now, it seems like history is repeating itself, except that these Bills arent better then those Jets teams, and more importantly the Pats are a juggernaut!

Rex wont make it to year 3...

He should be proud. He's taken a team that was .500 a year ago while allowing the 4th fewest yards per game and 4th fewest points per game, and rallied them to a .500 team that's 22nd in yards per game and 14th in points per game allowed. Which means he's almost as good a coach as Doug Marrone.

If you read a Bills message board and their hard on for the Pats, you probably would change your mind. The Bills fans do deserve Rex.

Absolutely. One of the things we saw this off-season is how insecure and jealous most NFL fans are. Wannabe bullies.

Before the game they posted the stat that the Giants and Bills were ranked 1st and 2nd in run defense and last and next-to-last in pass defense. Two schizophrenic teams. I expect Tom will be throwing 60 times in the Meadowlands.

He WAS trying to do what he did with his first NYJ's teams, and that was ride someone else's good talent into a couple of good years (2) before reaching his true level, which was somewhat below .500. Almost all the good talent on that team was accumulated by the former regime, PLUS several good FA signings that were none of his doing.

Thus far, by any fair accounting his team has WELL under performed, if you consider there talent level. He beat up 2 horrible teams that are lucky to have 3 wins between them, and lost 2 games at home. One to a middling team, and other to a good team.

His teams have lost for the same reasons Rex's teams have always lost. He doesn't pay attention to the details that win games and his teams are undisciplined and unfocused. I no longer believe he's some kind of defensive "genius". The Pat's not only beat him regularly, the score over 30 a great deal of the time.

The Pats have given the blue print for beating that defense, and the Giants used just a portion of it, and if they were just slightly better, they would have crushed the Bills .......on the road.

The other team suggested as being interested in hiring Rex this past offseason was Atlanta.

Gotta wonder if they'd be 4-0 if they'd listened to their stupid side and succombed to the Rex siren singing his blustery song.

Well Rex may not get the once in a lifetime OT calls or Pats' over inflated balls like he got when he was coaching Goodell's favorite team.

Someone should tell Rex there is a difference between a team that has got fight in them and a team that fights.

Example:

A team that has got fight in them: Patriots were down by 14 in Ravens game. Pats come back to tie. Pats go down again by 14. Pats come back to win game. Pats down by 10 in 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. Pats come back to win the game. A team that has got fight in them.

A team that fights: Throwing punches because you're losing.
