Integrity of the game

Bishop Goodell inspires by telling them to "go forth and sin no more" even though it is "more probable than not" that they will..

The man was smoking dope......in a car......driving 130 mph.......in a car chase away from police.....with a 12 year old child in the back seat..........

......and the NFL is spending millions appealing the Brady decision.

Goodys got more important things to do. Hes preparing for his next move in bringing TBrady to justice for his role in orchastrating deflategate and besmirching the integrity of the NFL.

Let's just put the real suspensions on hold for awhile.

Aldon Smith check

Sheldon Richardson check

No need to be hasty here. Let's all just turn a blind eye to the allegations. Compared to psi with no evidence these things are just chicken feed.

It's ok Sheldon we'll just incorporate that night into the suspension you already got for those many failed drug tests. The Nyjfl has your back.

"Smoking dope"

A few facts from the case, as I understand them:

Richardson served a four-game suspension for drugs, which was just completed. That suspension was determined around July 2.
Following that suspension, in late July he was arrested when his car was speeding "at 143 miles per hour" according to police (not sure what the posted limit was). When he was stopped, police detected a strong odor of burning marijuana in the car, which included a 12-year old passenger. He was arrested for resisting arrest. He never communicated that arrest to his employers; the Jets found out through the news.
He received no penalty for that arrest.

Minor infraction compared to deflategate since he didn't injure anyone because you know what does into footballs? Air. Oxygen. We need that stuff to live so if we don't use it properly people can die. Brady should have seen suspended for life.

makes sense.....

Maybe der Kommishonner is just being cautious. Last year he suspended Hardy even though Hardy hadn't been convicted of domestic violence. Hardy and the union took the suspension to court, the suspension was eventually thrown out. So possibly goody doesn't want another loss in court by suspending richardson without it being proven that he was speeding while high with a minor and a gun in the car.
Hardy didn't take the league to court. Last year he was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List. This past offseason, he was suspended for 10 games and appealed, and it was reduced to 4 game on that appeal.

That 4th game was last night so we will be seeing Hardy this Sunday.

On a somewhat related note someone told me last week was the first arrest free week for the NFL since 2009. Not sure how true that is, but it's an incredible stat if true.

Thanks for the information. I thought the union was involved and threatened to take this to court.

I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be stoned going 143 mph. Richardson probably thought he was on a rocket ship to Mars.

There was a little bit of bluster along those lines after the reduction to 4 games, but I think he backed down because he decided he should just take the 4 games instead of going to court arguing he should have gotten less when he beat up a woman, threatened to kill her, and threw her onto a bed with firearms on it.
