We are so used to the supreme competency that this organization represents, from coaching, on down, that for us, including me, it's puzzling and sometimes shocking to see games and personnel being so badly managed by other teams and their coaches, even on a professional level. I sometimes think, "how do you get away with that?"
I remember watching the Chiefs vs. Broncos MNF game and being stunned that Reid, in his 15 year career as HC still has not bothered to make sure that his team masters the 2 minute offense. It is just astounding, this lack of attention to detail. For me, if you can't be a professional, you shouldn't be part of the game at this level.
It makes me conclude that ownership is 100% accountable. How many owners buy a franchise without truly understanding the game? It's the only thing I can think of that makes sense in that all those bad coaches and personnel just keep sticking around, bouncing from one organization to another. It also explains why Vick, who is truly dumber than a bag of rocks, has managed to eke out a 15 year career.
