Disagree (sadly) with the last one.Dion Lewis is a Patriot. He is young and incredibly productive. I love the guy. Matt Forte's best years are behind him.
Money does not come remotely close to working. The Pats have $3M in cap room, and Forte has $5.8M salary remaining this year.
Shouldn't most of these types of trades (i.e. not fitting into a system) be done in the off-season? Did they just figure out that these guys don't fit in or did they change the system last week?
Of course, they could be using this regular season as a pre-season for 2016. I'm sure the temptation in doing (something like) this is to take one out of the Indy Colt's playbook and play for that #1 pick, particularly if it's a player you need to replace in the near future. However, I digress...
I'm sure the Bears management foresaw a very long season of painful losses based on the team's performance so far. Dumping players now gives them a built-in justification for the team's inevitably awful play for the rest of the year, and maybe insulates them from the argument that they're doing the Suck-for-(the next)Luck.
I'm going to be in Chicago during the first week in December. Should I buy tickets for the comical disaster 49ers v. Bears game that Sunday?
I want kyle Fuller but the bears won't trade him.
What about Alan Ball?
Or (slightly OT) Tim Jennings? Tampa will be sellers soon, methinks.
With all this talk about Da Bears looking to clear the books and start fresh, which players would you like most and what would you give for them?
Forte?
Alshon Jeffery for Dobson and a later rounder?
Martellus Bennett?
Just curious....
Tampa has a rookie #1 over all QB, they're not going to enter fire-sale mode IMO. Bears are blowing it up because they need a total rebuild and a good draft position.
Oh, he'd be ****ing sick here, there's no question. Blount would end up getting 5 carries a game, and Lewis would be lucky to get offensive snaps.
I like Forte a lot, I think he's tremendous. I just don't know if the money works, or if it makes sense bringing in what will amount to an 18-month rental.
Yeah, we need depth at punter, because ours is so overworked.I'd go for O'Donnell, who punted on every possession (10) on Sunday. Unfortunately he punted so many times he sprained his knee.
All they need to do is convince the Rats that trading for Jay Cutler is the answer to their problems and get them to trade for him.

I agree. Forte on the Pats? Eeee gads. Up in Packer land we see Forte twice a year, and believe me, he is damn good.
