Deflategate karma rages on

This is why BB coveted Smith. Not too bright but a tough, tough SOB and still very productive.

I wish someone would talk some sense into him. Hope he gets better

Fractured ribs are painful, but not as scary as what was original misreported.

Gloating about injuries is sick, could we just not do it?

Yeah but Deflategate.

Normally, I would advise Steve Smith to take his time healing because the Ravens aren't going anywhere this year. But this is Smith's last year. I guess he has nothing to prove, but I don't know if he wants to spend his last season inactive for a bunch of games.

The Ravens are done. They could barely beat the Steelers without an actual QB. They couldn't beat the Raiders in week 2. Their schedule isn't daunting, but they ain't winning more than 5-6 more games. Not without an offense.

He'll be fine. But if not, then well, to quote Jonathan Kraft, that's too bad for Baltimore.

His age has a lot more to do with the result of the tackle than any karma bullsh*t. The bones don't work the same when your pushing forty as they do in the twenties. He plays hard and he's a tough SOB but father time is not a kind person. I'm sure he thinks he is invincible and can deal with anything but if I were the Ravens I would ask him to sign a release before I would put him on the field again. Better yet I hope they don't and he sues their arse off if this comes back to haunt them. If he were on our team I would have loved it (before this happened) but just the way he is, he's loathed by other teams. When I watched him play I was pretty impressed by him and his gritty attitude. The fact that he went to the Balt Pukes took him down a notch in my eyes but he was an obvious fit with their criminal mentality.

Major injuries on both sides of the ball. Let's not forget Suggs is out for the season too for a torn achilles

Do I wish any injuries to anyone? No! :(

Do I wish the Balt Pukes anything but misery & torment? NO! :)

At least it happened now at the end of his career and not at his prime. He still looks good out there though.

I do admire the guy. Hate him, but love him if he was on our team. He's a competitor, to say the least.

Not sure what Steve Smith has to do with all of the deflategate bullsh.t? Unless we are operating on a Kevin Bacon principle.

Sorry to hear this Smith has been a great wr IMO, if true this should be the end of career. Risking more injury in his back would be nuts.

He is borderline HOF had he been in a better O with good QB's he would be a lock for the HOF.

Steve Smith has HOF credentials. More receptions than Art Monk and more receiving yards than Michael Irvin, Steve Largent, and many others. He only needs 365 yards to get 14,000 yards and into the top 10 all-time.

Hes almost like the Brad Marchand of the NFL....Little Ball of Hate.

He might have compression fractures of vertebrae that do not cause pressure on his spinal cord which means he'll have long-term issues, but could finish this season. He should save some of his money to make his mansion handicapped accessible in the not so distant future.

@AaronWilson_NFL: Sources say Steve Smith might be able to play through broken bones due to his high pain tolerance, no decision made yet on long-term status

YEAH OK... ☺
That's insanity

Meh.

If there was anything to framegate karma, it would be happening to Kensil, Vincent, Pash, Goodell, Kraft, Mara, Jones, etc. From all outward signs, all of those guys have skated through with hardly a scratch. Most are in a stronger position today because of their corruption than they were before.

Volume stats are tricky. For example, Bledsoe and Testaverde are 9th and 10th, respectively, all-time in passing yards, more than Montana and Kelly. But Bledsoe and Testaverde will never be in Canton.

I wouldn't be surprised if Andre Johnson didn't get in, he has the volume, but name one memorable catch in his career. It's a problem with being stuck in Houston the whole time but you see what I mean. Henry Ellard didn't get in and he has more career receiving yards than both Johnson and Smith.

Smith is a terrific wide receiver but I stop short of declaring him a HOFer, I think that gets thrown around too casually.

Did anyone else read the NFL.com article? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...th-broke-4-ribs-in-thursdays-game-vs-steelers

The 15-year pro was clearly in pain Thursday night after taking a hit from Pittsburgh Steelers safety Mike Mitchell. Smith vowed revenge on his former Carolina Panthers teammate following the contest.

"The best thing I can do without threatening him and saying that I will assault him when I see him," Smith said after the game, "is I will say I look forward to playing him again. He's on my lifetime hit list."

Even at 36, he's a punk.

I used to begrudgingly admire Steve Smith for years despite him being an abrasive, obnoxious moron. But after he tried to fight Jermaine Wiggins in front of his family for no apparent reason I lost any kind of admiration I had for him. And I despise the Ravens. And John Harbaugh is a whiney, spineless snake. So I'm content to have them all wallow in despair at their glaring mediocrity...
