Ouch! Get well

Wait and see mode? 4 broken bones in his back? I wonder which ones? I can't think of any bone in your back where you'd be like, eh, we'll just wait and see.
That's what I'm thinking. How do you put him out there with that information being known to everyone with the possibility of him taking a hit to his back? I'm not a doctor but I'm assuming that it could only get worse from playing. Guess we will see. Glad I didn't accept the trade for him in the PatFans FF league.

And Michael Campanaro has a herniated disc.. They just traded for Chris Givens of the Rams..

Odd how the hit that took out Smith was the exact same hit that Bart Scott was describing in his dump on Tom Brady. I guess the dirty birds that flock together do stick together.

I like that kid Campanaro. Too bad he's a rat.

@AaronWilson_NFL: Sources say Steve Smith might be able to play through broken bones due to his high pain tolerance, no decision made yet on long-term status

YEAH OK... ☺

Sorry to hear this Smith has been a great wr IMO, if true this should be the end of career. Risking more injury in his back would be nuts.

He is borderline HOF had he been in a better O with good QB's he would be a lock for the HOF.

He'd be an idiot. He can do long term damage to his back if he gets hit hard in that same area. Hard to believe that any respectable physician would let him do that.

Never mind that.. It could kill him.. A hit there could send a rib into his lung. Or cause it to sever an artery..

Captain obvious here, but that's a huge loss for the Ravens...

Ribs are very different than vertebrae.

Major injuries on both sides of the ball. Let's not forget Suggs is out for the season too for a torn achilles

Fractured ribs are painful, but not as scary as what was original misreported.

Gloating about injuries is sick, could we just not do it?

Lets be real here; Steve Smith himself has been quite happy to gloat about injuries himself in the past.

"Ice up, son"
