NFL and Steelers respond to Patriots fans: "Roethlisberger didn't have a cell phone on the sideline"

And if that were the case do you think the league would accept the Patriots' word for it that it wasn't?

If it was bending in Brady's hand, they'd have no other choice. The public wouldn't accept Brady's word for it but we're supposed to be smarter than they are.

I think the Edge is a gimmick and a much bigger damage risk than the normal s6, got myself an s6 Monday as an upgrade from my old S4 and haven't found a single flaw with the phone yet outside of needing to redo my playlists, but that's every new phone.

The screen is a bit of a gimmick (apart from apps & people edge, it's pointless) but it does have a slightly bigger battery than the normal s6 which is nice.

I saw that but didn't see any metrics about how much longer it ran compared to the S6. Obviously its dependent on the use case (wi-fi, streaming, talk time, etc) Thoughts?

I generally get 26ish hours use from 100% to 0 and use it heavily (games & web browsing mainly) so it has plenty enough juice. The regular s6 will only have like 30 mins to an hour less battery. Best advice if it's a coin flip would be go to a store and see which feels better in your hands.

Thanks.

I liked the S6 Edge feel.

I dunna know...decisions, decisions..

Then the only reasonable thing to do is have a multi-million dollar investigation and wait for months on end to get the results.
Seriously, this is the point most posters are making.. leave us the fuk alone.!!!

Is it a big deal that a guy not even playing checks his cell phone? If anyone makes a big deal out of this, it will just propagate that these ticky tacky rules are silly and arbitrary.

(sigh) Like a pound of air.

All I gotta say is why would you tap a play card and shove it in your pocket very fast.

Well there's only one way to know for sure (and thus protect the integrity of the game): We need to see Ben's phone so we can see if there were any texts sent out during the game. If he's innocent he'll have no problem handing it over, I assume?

Another 5 million? Why not? The NFL has tons of money!

You all probably going to disagree with me but it looks like what the Steelers said it was. I looked at the clip frame by frame and it looks like when he starts to put it away, he grabs it with his right hand and closes his hand like it was something flexible. I guess we all see what we want to see.

He didn't tap it, he repositioned his thumb, and we don't know if he put it away fast or not, he may have simply been done using it, the camera only switched to him for the last 2 or so seconds.

Holy crap. Its Friday and I was trying to have a little fun by finding an old cell phone image.

Is it me or does the guy in the pic look like a certain attorney that likes to write fictional reports about deflated footballs.

So Ted Wells started out selling phones and is now into selling junk science. It's a natural career path I guess.

After watching that clip, I have to say he sure did look guilty...looked guilty as hell. Just on that fact alone I think he should be banned the entire season and Pitt should relinquish their 2016 1'st, 2nd and 3rd round pick...For the integrity of the shield!

That is obviously a wrist band and the blowup to make it look like a phone with two buttons is disingenuous at best. If you watch the video you can you see the reflection of the stadium lights move across the plastic cover.

I'm all for nailing any BS in the NFL, now after what happened. But let's not go full blown stupid like the rest of the country in doing so.

Edit: For the person who disagreed with the blatantly obvious you are acting no better than those constantly accusing the Pats of cheating. You are playing off the same emotion as them, just different motivation for the emotion.

Agreed. That first crappy photo really looked like a phone, but all the photos since show that it almost certainly wasn't a phone. It's OK to hold other teams to the same standards of punishment the Pats receive, but let's not put the blinders on and prosecute when there likely isn't an infraction.

This thread is kinda dumb. Some of you guys need to get a grip even if you are just "joking around" (dubious). If a fan from another team came here and saw this you'd look like a bunch of lunatics

NFL investigation found the following text activity at the time in question...

"this is dominoes just confirming your two 30" double thick pan extra large triple cheese pizza's loaded with every topping extra sausage and burger, a 50oz diet coke and large order of bread sticks/sauce dip, if yes click and confirm"

"Confirm"
Last May he sent a text where he used the nickname "deep dish"
