scumbag who assaulted women.
decent qb...but brady and bill own him and his organization!!

I make fun of Ben a lot the truth is I enjoy watching the guy play and it sucks that some of the top tier QB's are hurt right now, sucks for them and it also makes football painful to watch.

Most dramatic fake limp.

Most consecutive pump fakes.

Those are the two things I'll remember about him.

The biggest downside to deflategate ... in this forum ... IMO ... is the hate it has sewn.

This forum was above most of that for many years ... once in a while OT rhetoric threads.

The people that hate the Patriots have influenced the forum's direction ... which means they have achieved.

Just saying ... too much hate in this place this season.
I agree with these 2 posts:
HOF QB who won (at least) two Super Bowls The rest is just people talking out of their collective ass.

I agree with these 2 posts:

This board hated Roeth before Framegate. You just don't remember. When he was accused of rape (twice) this board exploded.

Bledsoe would have won multiple SBs too if he had a wristband cellphone that had all the opponent plays and had a warm Gatorade button.
come on we sound as petty and delusional as Indy and Baltimore fans!

I know it's not a serious thread, but he'll go down as a really good QB who got overshadowed by Brady, Rodgers, and Manning.

To be fair, Ben is a hall of famer, Bledsoe is a first round talent who didn't live up to his billing.

44k yards passing and 250TDs is a pretty damn good NFL career for a 1st round draft choice.

Throws the ball good, rapes people.

I'll remember him as one of the best QB's of his generation and as a guy who hangs around college bars looking to score with college girls any way he can.

Rapelisberger is his legacy. And if you don't believe me, tell me when is the last time you saw an ad with him in it, at least outside of Pittsburgh. Two-time Super Bowl champion and one of the top 8-10 QB's in the NFL today playing for one of its most popular franchises. That's easy money, right? Nope, too risky for businesses, not with the stigma attached to him.

44,611 yards, 250 TDs, a .500 playoff record and a Super Bowl appearance in 14 seasons?

That's a success by any metric for any 1st round QB. At least it is in 31 other cities.

Drew Bledsoe is far and away the second-best QB in the history of the Patriots franchise, it's not even close.

He's not Brady. No one is.

rapist **** who could play football well but not as good as brady

As a football player, (I'm not going to comment on his off the field stuff) my respect for him continues to increase. I thought he was overrated and carried to two Super Bowls by a stacked defense and strong running game, but he has really developed in the last few seasons. While I don't think he is a top tier QB, I do think he's near the top of the 2nd tier. But the thing I respect about him the most is his toughness and the way he sticks in there, takes a hit and makes a play.

I know as a Pats fan I'm supposed to hate on him (and I do most of the time), but if I'm honest with myself he is an excellent NFL QB.

He hasn't really been relevant in a few years when it has come down to the postseason. His last postseason victory was the 2011 AFC Championship Game against the Jets. Funny how nobody has pointed that out yet. Since then, he lost to Green Bay in the Super Bowl, lost to Denver with Tebow in the wild card round in 2012, and failed to make the playoffs in 2012 and 2013. Then he was outplayed by Flacco in last years wildcard round in a 30-17 loss (only 1 touchdown was scored by the Steelers that game). Fat Ben also failed to make the playoffs in 2006 and 2009.

In his first Super Bowl, he just went along for the ride as a game manager. His defense and run game was greatly leaned on. He was pretty crappy in that Super Bowl win against Seattle and some of the calls in that game were suspect. I will give him the 2008 championship. He also missed the playoffs in both title defense seasons in 2006 and 2009 and went 1 and done in 2007 to the Jags.

Why do guys like Joe Flacco and Peyton Manning get crapped on so badly, but someone like Fat Ben gets a pass considering the fact that he has not won a playoff game in almost 5 years and was truly great for only 1 of those Super Bowls?

Flacco - Mediocre player who rode a great defense, and the ridiculous PI rules, to playoff success for years
Manning - Elite regular season player who ****s the bed playoff season after playoff season
Roethlisberger - Second tier 'elite' player who's 10-5 in the playoffs with 2 SB wins, saddled with full rebuild and years of bad GM work

The reasons seem obvious, to me.

making excuses for Fat Ben and refusing to give Flacco credit for being a playoff QB? Flacco actually led them to that ring in 2012. His SB was quite impressive. Fat Ben's 1st is not so much as he rode his defense which you ignored. His 2nd sure but he still rode a great defense which you still chose to ignore. Now if you are going to do the SB ring count, where does Eli Manning fall into this? He did beat our boy Brady twice and has 2 rings because of it. Don't go backtracking now. It makes sense that you praise Fat Ben since he has always been the Patriots *****. Pats are 1-2 against Peyton and 2-2 against Flacco which is why you are blinded by your reasons.
