Media ignores Steelers caught cheating on TV last night

You're still trying to miscategorize others' opinions, when they were clearly stated and clarified for you. The outrage for many was that he league and media target the Pats almost exclusively when manufactoring ****storms. That is what we were arguing against. When that was one's position, it is not hypocritical to think that such things should be applied evenly. Much like using loaded terms and insults, misrepresenting the opposing viewpoint is another sign that you are wrong.

Not tossing out red herrings of my own at all. I've refrained my OP once already after posting it. The three examples that I gave out should not have been ****storms but became that way because Goodell is hell bent on leaving his own stamp on the league. This one is no different. That's the problem. None of the four examples, including this, should become ****storms. That's the issue with his regime and why he's such an awful commissioner. And, let's be honest, people are only wishing for this here because of schadenfreude. That's it. It's not about applying the pubishment evenly or else there would be no "fine him $1M and take their first rounder away" jokes.

For the record, I am a hypocrite, as is every human I've ever gotten to know, but I am constantly striving to be less of one. That said, my behavior in this situation is far from hypocritical.

It only is if you never whined about the Pats being unfairly targeted and punished. If you didn't, then you're not being a hypocrite here by hoping this turns into an unneeded ****storm.

I don't even care. I'm kinda over the drama. Let whiny-ass, butthurt, crybabies like the Ratbirds, Dolts, and Squealers do what they do...

No need for us to stoop to their level. We win Super Bowls.

Bingo.

I think it is the wrist band. But I don't want to debate that. If I'm right and, more importantly, if the Steelers are right then this accusation is as substantial as the ball deflation nonsense.

But... I'd like like the Steelers fans to contemplate this. Suppose now the NYJFL decides to investigate this to the tune of $5 million plus legal costs, to dock you a 1st and 4th draft choices, fine you a $1 million, suspend Ben for 4 games? Oh, and all this while you are trying to prepare for a Superbowl. If you can wrap your imaginations around that then you get some sense of the titanic injustice that has been done to the Patriots.

To add to the hypothetical accusation: There are enough questionable events associated with the team for a Kravitz-like "It's the Steelers. Why should I give them the benefit of the doubt." moment: Their head coach has broken league rules before in a very obvious and public way, the team has had issues with players using cellphones on the sideline in the past, and the player in question has been accused of serious crimes before.

If the league wanted to turn this into a witch hunt, there's enough there for them to work with. I guess we'll know what they plan to do based on Mort's next tweet on this topic. ;)

if he were using the phone you pictured, in order for the buttons to be on the side they are in the photo (near his left hand), the phone would have to be upside down- screen facing the ground. If he was looking at the screen, the buttons would need to be either facing him, or near his right hand.
I don't think so. On that particular model the screen rotates. Buttons facing in or out....doesnt matter

Originally when I saw the photos I thought it might be a phone but I no longer do. I think it was a wrist band.
Ive read other posts and I really struggle with it being a wristband. Just seems too thick.

It's unfair because it doesn't happen to most teams, even when they are caught doing worse. Your inability to understand this simple concept doesn't make it wrong, but it is kinda funny.

I'm gonna say one final thing before I leave it at this: the only ****storm people should be hoping for is a ****storm AGAINST the NFL. I'll get behind that.

Are they sure it's not a tv remote?

Its a clicka! Hes holdin' a clicka! Wil ya tell ya fatha hes holdin' a clicka!!

LOL, Goodell has suspended star players time and time and time again and handed out bogus, draconian penalties to the Saints. What's funny is acting like getting screwed over has only happened to the Pats under his watch. But you've proved my point. The only reason you want a scandal, manufactured or otherwise, is for the purpose of schadenfreude. With that, I'm done here. Gonna get back to work and enjoy my weekend. I'll let you enjoy the last word.

Your name suits you well :p

More often than not, I'll not comment after someone takes their ball and goes home, but the extreme misapplication of loaded terms, and complete misrepresentation of opposing viewpoints in this case has prompted me to make an exception. I suppose if I didn't explicitly spell out the precise outcome that was the ultimate motivation for this multiple times, you might be close to having a point.

Understanding the value of lessons learned from a painful experiencing is very different from taking joy in another person's misfortune. Schadenfreude is just another example your incorrect use of a loaded label.

i get that, but the buttons cant change location. If the buttons are facing away from him, they would be near his right hand (left side of the screenshot).

Yeah I know but after looking at images online they are pretty thick.

Based on the video, I think it was a phone turned horizontally with the buttons facing out. That is exactly the way I turn my phone when I want to see a landscape view.

There's one picture in the other thread where whatever he is holding is bending, so I'm not so sure.

Oh, so your buttons travel across the screenas time goes? Because the reflections on the wristband that people here call "buttons" does.

I'm going by this pic.

As Ive said before on that model you can text AND have the buttons facing out to the left.

With that said, after looking at Ben's pic the buttons might be a little higher than what is above.

Either way....hes holding a device IMO not a wristband.

What I'm struggling with is that it shouldn't be physically possible that the buttons would be there if the buttons are placed as they are in the picture you use to show the Galaxy S6.

If they are placed as they are in your picture (upper left corner) they should be outward by his right hand (viewers left side) or inward by his left (viewers right side).
In the sideline picture it is shown outward towards his left hand, which corresponds to what we see for the case where the buttons are in the upper right corner.

With that said, I don't think those are even buttons in any case. It probably is a wristband!

Bottom line, why do we even care about this?

Because people are bitter that Deflategate and Spygate happened to the Pats and want something to happen to another team. I just caught you up on the last twelve pages.

When the NFL asked to see the "wrist band" Rothilsburger stated he destroys all of his wrist bands afterwards. The NFL stated they are considering suspending him for non cooperation..... and that he was genuinely aware of wrist bands use and a conspiracy with other team employees.

Probably not because so many people cared about psi in a football.....
