Media ignores Steelers caught cheating on TV last night

REPORT:

NFL will not pursue investigating Pittsburgh Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger for apparent use of cellular communication devices on the sideline during last night's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Sources say the NFL front office would rather send money to study the long term effects of concussions and help players become financially responsible than spend millions of dollars on a ****ty 6-month investigation.

And the amazing thing is the investigation is already over because the NFL said so. Case closed. Nothing can ever be brought to light about this again.

How did they wrap that up so quickly? I think we need to see the records from Ben's cell phone provider to confirm that there were no texts sent during the timeframe of the game at least.

I posted this in the other thread.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. He has a case on it.

Aren't those buttons on the wrong side though? I assume the placement of the buttons are on the upper part of the phone. From how he is holding it, the buttons should be on the right side. But from your picture of the galaxy s6 it appears the buttons on it are on the left side.

The volume buttons on the Edge are facing to the right and away from the body if the phone is held horizontally with the bottom of it in the left hand.

But that means they should be on the left side of the picture? So doesn't really match up in that case.

You're still not seeing it right. The biggest complaint about the scandals was the assymetric and unfair nature that they are applied to the Patriots and not other teams. The NFL manufactures these against the Pats while sweeping worse offenses by other teams under the rug.

This is inching close to a red herring. I never said the Pats were unfairly targetted nor do I conclude that the scandal and subsequent punishment weren't out of proportion. What I've maintained in this thread is twofold:

1. Hoping for a ****storm makes one a hypocrite when they spend months on end crying about how the Pats were unfairly punished by a corrupt commissioner over a scandal that was blown out of proportion.

2. Hoping that a commissioner that has bungled every scandal that he was gotten his hands on to have more face time over another manufactured scandal does not make any sense since, as we seen, it doesn't do anything to hurt his power to preside over them and doesn't threaten his job.

You inability to understand this while hurling out insults at those who disagree is poor form. Here's a hint, when you consistently feel the need to use charged words and hurl insults in your argument, you're probably wrong.

My apologies if "****ies" hurt your feelings but I guarantee you that the reaction wouldn't have been any different if I had said "hypocrites" instead.

The owners. The owners don't see him as a problem until he is their problem. Exhibit A: Kraft backing Goodell during the Ray Rice scandal. Now he probably won't be as quick to jump in to defend him.

Did I miss when Kraft directly attacked Goodell?

It looks like a Samsung Galaxy Note of some sort with a stylus

Flip the phone in this image right side up and that stylus looks just like the larger silver button on Bens phone. You are looking at Bens phone from the top. He is 6'5" 241 so a Note is going to look small in his hands.

This is all speculation of course but IMO if you look at the pic, Ben is holding it from behind.

In addition, for that model the screen auto-adjusts regardless if the buttons are facing towards you on the right hand side or outwardly on the left.

Make sense?

Well ratherno read 10 pages of this crap, I skimmed through a few and let me know if I have it down, or am I missing anything/

1. Rothlessberger was on sideline with what some think was an illegal communications device.

2. Whatever it was, we can all be pretty sure it WASN'T what Florio said it was

3. Outside of the obvious hypocrisy, it really doesn't matter if he had a phone in the first place. WTF was he going to do, ask Siri for a play? Actually on 2nd thought, he'd probably have better luck with her than Tomlin

4. It should be clear by now to every one that the NFL isn't going to be going after ANYONE. Nor the Bills and their train horn, not Rothlessberger and his phone, not Aldon Smith, and his very serious charges etc, etc. They are SO afraid of the court system right now that if Aaron Hernandez could get out of jail for a weekend, who here would be shocked if they let him play instead of taking him to court.

5. I hope those with access keep hounding Florio. Like I said, what he had might not have been illegal, but it sure in hell wasn't a "wristwatch".......and Mike should know.....that we know.....even if in the great scheme of things, we know it doesn't matter. ;)

I'f there is anything else I missed, let me iknow

Heard a clip on WEEI of Tiny Tim Benz, aka The Dwarf, calling us Pats fans " jag-offs.". Priceless.

You're still trying to miscategorize others' opinions, when they were clearly stated and clarified for you. The outrage for many was that he league and media target the Pats almost exclusively when manufactoring ****storms. That is what we were arguing against. When that was one's position, it is not hypocritical to think that such things should be applied evenly. Much like using loaded terms and insults, misrepresenting the opposing viewpoint is another sign that you are wrong.

For the record, I am a hypocrite, as is every human I've ever gotten to know, but I am constantly striving to be less of one. That said, my behavior in this situation is far from hypocritical.

All the NFL has to do is ask for Bens phone and check if any texts or calls were made during the game .

Then if he is hesitant to turn it over make that reluctance the basis for punishment.

It only really looks like a phone to exponent* because they're paid to prove it's a phone.

This. It's not a phone but i don't believe it's a play sheet, either. Made this from one of the higher res clips:

The "buttons" (glare) are hidden under his thumb and then when he moves his thumb they begin sliding along the edge and morphing into one button, they're not symetrical and the "phone" is bent in some shots.

Not sure why everyone is in such a hurry for another "scandal" in the NFL after being the victims of the most recent one. It was pretty irritating .

Last night the TV showed Ben Roethlisberger using a cell phone while also having a 2 way headset on. Now the NFL needs to investigate this and this requires that they get Ben's phone as that is key to the infraction. All this while Tomlin has complained about headsets and communications.View attachment 10706

Update. Steelers claim is black plastic wristband but looks nothing like and has silver buttons

Looks like Ben Roethlisberger is playing Elf Bowling on a GameBoy circa 1999. The Steelers are fortunate to have a leader of his stature and intelligence.

For most of us, it is because we realize that it will take more owners and fanbases to experience this type of thing to become aware of the corruption and unfairness rampant in the NFL front office. Only then will it change.

That would certainly put an end to the speculation now wouldn't it?

So you're eager to turn nothing into something out of anger?
