NFL and Steelers respond to Patriots fans: "Roethlisberger didn't have a cell phone on the sideline"

He has the camera slide un-extended and is texting.

Ben's chubby thumbs are on either side of the phone.

This explains the two silver objects in the pic facing the outside on the bottom right.

Verizon owes me an upgrade and i was literally checking this phone out a few day ago.

Never paid attention to the buttons on the Edge until this and now I keep turning the phone sideways to look at them - and they line up with what Ben is using.

Based on how big he is it's likely an Edge Plus, too using the spacing between his thumbs as a reference point.

Ok I would probably slow down on the whole "We've identified the make/model/submodel of the phone based on that 5 second clip and pictures!" trip :D:D

OT: Do you like the phone?

I don't mind reading new cheat allegations in the forums every week, but this one seems like a real weak spot to plant a flag. To me, it looks even more like a wristband with glare in the moving picture than it did in the stills.

Thats obviously a cell phone. Its one thing for the steelers to denie it, but its another for the NFL to come out and cover for them. It appears theres a conspiricy between the steelers and the nfl to cheat.

The NFL would never do that. Integrity of the game is the most important thing. For example, if a head coach deliberately tripped a player during game action, the NFL would launch a full investigation and if convicted, discipline appropriate with game integrity purposes such as year long suspensions or loss of first round draft picks.

I'm 100% certain that wasn't a cellphone and was an armband.

I'm also wishing, desperately, that another team feels what it is like to get ****ed over when your QB actually did nothing wrong.

Sure gets it in his pocket quick and looks very guilty.
I noticed that too. He looks like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. This wasn't a "gee I didn't know I wasn't allowed to use it" thing.

It would be wise to take a step back for sure....however,

That IS the phone

maybe im in the minority, but it doesn't appear to be a phone to me. If you watch the clip in the first post, the "buttons" aren't there at the beginning, they appear to me to be reflections. Plus it seems pretty bent in his hands, not solid like a phone. Screenshot from the very beginning, no buttons, pretty curved.

I think most of the guys on here posting are being sarcastic with the way the world and the NFL* handled framegate. I can't tell what it is. But hell there was no proof of Brady and the Patriots doing anything illegal so let's just call it cheating!

Two silver-ish, rectangular glaring reflections positioned only on the bottom-right?

C'mon now...

Look at some of the higher-res stills. That video was taping a TV (not the clearest view).

Phone angle is too high up to see buttons on side as it sits in case. See the way he acts when he puts it away. I want the Steelers to feel some heat. remember Ben accusing the Patriots of breaking unwritten rules and Tomlin talking about communications issues pointing at Patriots? F them all.

It's a great phone; lightning fast, good/easy to hold and build quality is top notch.
Great! Thanks for the feedback.

Freaking weird.....Ben is using the same phone I am thinking getting.
