Media ignores Steelers caught cheating on TV last night

Have we become a nation of rats? I mean, if it's in defense of OUR integrity, have at it. But ratting out other people and organization is pathetic.
In a word, yes. This is a nation of whiney ****ies. The very posters that complained about that during the offseason are now diving into that well head-first.

Gotta find a way to break this story. Anybody have connections?

Simmons perhaps? 93.7, 98.5? Call the Globe and suggest it was Brady? Violin and CHB will jump on it w/o checking in order to scoop the other haters.

This doesn't need to be turned into a ****storm. Neither did Deflategate, Spygate, or Bountygate. This just maybe needs to be a simple fine. The "****storm" stance is the problem with the Goodell regime.
And by calling for ****storms the absurdity of it all is revealed. That is why we need to call for ****storms. F Tomlin who accused the Patriots just weeks ago. That got how much coverage?

I respectfully disagree. One of the things that upsets me so much is the Patriots make national headlines for things that happen everywhere and are ridiculously commonplace. I feel a responsibility to point out such infractions.

Last night, in the in-game thread, I joked how the scoreboard clock operator was "cheating" when he ran the clock down to the 2:00 warning at the end of regulation even though the play clearly ended at 2:04. If that happens in Gillette, the collective of football fandom outside New England would be losing their bleeping minds.

It's not ratting out if its publicly available via video on live tv.

We're simply pointing out the obvious. Hey, isn't that guy doing something against the rules?

Of course this is the nfl so much like the vikings heating up balls on the sideline this will get hand waved and blandino will say something like "I spoke to Ben, and he assured me that it wasn't a phone, and i believe him."

I don't see anything wrong with pointing out the inconsistency of the leagues "integrity" crusade.

Send it to the guys from NFL Memes on Facebook, they're gonna make a meme about this full of irony and they probably have more reach than some reporters.

I can't access from work, or I would do it, I can do it tonight, but I think timing is important to not weaken a joke.

I don't see any ratting out here. The NFL has a rule. It was broken. It was in plain sight on national TV.

The Browns were penalized for using a cell phone on game day. That is a no-no.

The same rule, and penalty should be applied to the Steelers.

For it not to be would be show inconsistency in enforcing rules that compromise the competitive integrity of the game. By not acting shows that some NFL teams are treated differently than others.

Of course, we knew that already.

It was obviously one of these: :D

So the adult response is to say the equivalent of "oooohhhh, I'm telling", then send it to the media hoping for yet another ****storm where Goodell essentially reigns supreme? Nah, I'm good. Been there, done that, have the shirt. I'm not going to lower myself to the level of the rest of the ***** made losers in other fanbases that took that attitude with the Pats.

Thanks for playing, you are hereby excused from this thread then

I got punched in the face, but I'm not going to lower myself to that level of human and punch back.

His comment isn't about enforcing a rule. His comment is about wanting there to be another scandal along with that enforcement. Or a "****storm", if you will. That's hypocritical of this fanbase and makes us look like little ****ies. Why would anyone here want another scandal for Goodell to botch if not for the fact that they are simply butthurt by Deflategate? Because that's the only logical reason I can think of.

You made your point - you are not needed any longer on this thread

So basically, you have nothing. And nah, I think I'll stick around. Stay butthurt though. It's entertaining.

I hear from a solid league source that Ben brought the phone into a bathroom just prior to the start of the game. He locked the door and was in there alone with his phone for over 90 seconds.

Wanting there to be equal discipline for all 32 teams (especially in this case where there is video f*cking proof of an infraction vs probably and maybes) equals being butthurt. Got it

Terrible example and counter argument. Bottom line: a fan base that just spent months complaining about the way the media blows up every little thing and about the way an incompetent commissioner needlessly turned a small thing into a ****storm. Now, instead of just simply saying "yeah he should get fined/suspended", the same people that whined about the ****storm are hoping for another one? Because why exactly? Because you're butthurt and your feelings are hurt? Why would anybody hope for another ****storm for a commissioner this incompetent to handle otherwise? Really. Give me some logic here.

Kontra, I think the problem everyone here has (and all Pats fans in general) is that in a league that really wants "partity" you can 't have hypocrisy, inconsistencies, favoritism, and witch hunts"

The Pats were penalized harshly for something that science said diddnt happen. The Pats brand has been tarnished, TB's cred questioned, and the fans had to endure a bunch of **** that will never go away.

I personally think every time a team "cheats" like in this OBVIOUS example, that it should be thrown in the face of everyone to show how phucked up the league is. It will also show how people cant be objective and fair and admit its all either, no big deal or its all cheating.

****ies are the people that cry when the pats may have done something but dont say a word when its another team. That is a pus$$y and I dont recall the USA being built on values like that.

I don't know if you have been paying attention but the league has been demonstrating that they believe that the only way to properly enforce rules is to create a shirtstorm.
