Jets bring 350 rolls of toilet paper to London because British variety is too thin

I think europe is a bit too big to call it one place like that. For instance, here in Sweden you shower every day. And no one, absolutely no one has a bidet.

Of course. This gives me a good opportunity to throw out the old saying that Americans(yes, all of them) know extremely little about the world outside the USA.

Eh, I was born in Europe, and spent years living in 3 different countries. The Scandanavians have evolved their supremely civilized cultures, while at the same time preserving older Nordic and Viking traditions around cleanliness.

Doesn't 350 rolls seems like a lot, especially since they fired Rex Ryan?

I'd guess they make a trip like that with 150 people. 2 roles per person, plus a little extra.

I imagine the last things hotels want to do is clean up after Americans who don't know how to properly use a bidet. I can vouch for the fact that they exist in many private homes on the continent. In the US, it's probably the reverse. Hotels that cater to Europeans have them, but rarely do you see them in homes.

Only Americans stay at European hotels?

Funny thing is Americans consider themselves so much more cleanly than many Europeans because of our daily showers, but when Europeans visit the states they are absolutely positively disgusted by the lack of bidets here. They're like, you clean yourselves how??? Like cavemen.

After living in Southeast Asia for 2 years, bidets changed my life lol.. they are so much better and more sanitary

Think of it like this.. if you stuck your hand in mud, then pulled it out and someone offered you paper towels or a hose.. which would you take?

Well they're not wrong. Good call, nothing worse than showing up someplace and having to deal with some one ply sandpaper nonsense.

they ought to treat their butts nicer. Instead of causing fumbles, their butts might repay the kindness with some positive plays.

SOFJ - they spend their time worrying about the ass wipe, not the ass being wiped.

Sheesh! The leading brand of toilet paper in the UK is made by Kimberly Clark. If anything, it's thicker (and softer) than the rubbish on sale at Whole Foods -- and it has a cute lab puppy!

Yeah, I don't recall this being an issue the three times I have visited the UK.

Hah! I've seen those before but never knew what they were for. Now that I know...I'd like one of those!

The toilets with the water shooting up to clean your ass and then the heat drying your ass sounds convenient...but what if someone goes diarrhea? Will it go over that hole where the water comes out to clean your ass? Could be unhygienic!

J-E-T-S .... WIPE WIPE WIPE

I lived in the UK for a few years some 30 years ago and I still recall with horror British Rail toilet paper.

You had a choice between the totally non-absorbent very shiny side and the mostly non-absorbent shiny side (think very thin wax paper), and you had to work hard to get more than a few very small sheets out of their dispenser.

Our toilet roll rocks...if you want to buy cheap expect your hand to go through it, but a few more pence makes a lot more sense :)

The Whole Foods crowd probably feels its more environmental and holistic to attempt to use worthless recycled (er!) toilet paper and to then have to waste a few gallons of water trying to clean the after effects off your hands.

When I was in the UK my older aunties had square sheets of TP that came out of a little cardbox box, kind of like Kleenex for the butt instead of the face.

My younger cousin was proud to tell me he had "bog rolls" in his bathroom.

Go easy on pub fish-n-chips and there should be no GI issues. At least, bangers and mash are agreeable with me, and some of the Indian food is pretty awesome. Vindaloo can be a little rough, though!

Yes. They were revolting -- waxy and smelling of disinfectant. Relics of the war years. Things have improved since then (unless you're staying in some bed-and-breakfast run by a born-again Calvinist in the Outer Hebrides!)

EDIT: A "bog roll" is just standard British slang for a roll of toilet paper.

Bwahahahahahaha!!! The Jets are ****tting their pants!!!....heh

A wet towel. I always travel with wipies and keep them in my office at all times.
