BART SCOTT RIPS PATRIOTS QUARTERBACK: ‘THERE’S NOTHING TOUGH ABOUT TOM BRADY’

BTW, who the hell is asking former players like Bart Scott and Dexter Manley to weigh in with their negative opinions on Brady? How is this news, and why is the media fishing for this stuff? There some kind of negativist agenda here?
Because the questioners know that the answers they get about Brady are exactly what everyone in 44.5 states in this country want to hear. It's low-hanging fruit.

I don't think that's what he was saying, but we're Patriots fans. We have this knack for always looking for stuff to complain about. He wants to hit him hard enough to break his ribs. Cool. That's how every defender should be. You should want to hit people hard enough to hurt them. It's the cheap shots/dirty shots (like the one TJ Ward landed on Gronk when he dove at his knee caps in...2012?) that bother me. But "Yea I wanted to hit him hard enough to break his ribs" just doesn't get my panties all wadded up.

Reread what he said, because you're mischaracterizing it. He said that, in a situation where he had an opportunity to consciously size up his opponent and decide whether to deliver a blow that would injure him or not, he'd choose to try to break Brady's sternum.

When you don't have to injure someone to make the play, but you choose to deliberately try to inflict a serious injury anyway just for the hell of it, that's the definition of a cheap/dirty shot. Dunno how you can claim to be against those but have no problem with this.

Ben is also the same guy who was called out by his coach for lying about broken toes in an AFCCG loss to the Pats. He is or was also known to be a bit of a drama queen with injuries like Favre was.

You have not and will never hear Brady use injuries as an excuse or "pose" with injuries when cameras are rolling. If that is not tough then I guess I have a very different definition of the word than most.

I do agree with Scott about McNair. That was one tough dude.
McNair may have been tough, but every ailment he had from a hang nail to a herniated disc was advertised all over the world.

And Brady knows and deals with the fact there are players in the league now who want to do the same thing. That's not "tough"?

Bart doesn't have brain damage. Most colleges passed on him due to SAT scores - he was very weak.

So his "sit in SAT taker" was a corn ball as well?

Its just the latest mantra designed to stir up controversy. They're runnung out of negative things to say about brady that will get them attention and clicks to the story. There are a lot of jealous haters out there that eat this stuff up. Its similar to how anything concerning goodell thats negative is a big hit here.

Not tough? Brady has the 7th and 9th (and still counting) longest consecutive games played streaks in NFL history for a QB. And I don't recall a single time I have heard him complain about a hit or about aches and pains.

Look at him pop back up after a hard hit and clap.

I'm not sure if it was America's game or Do Your Job, but Brady was complimenting guys after taking hard hits.

Tom Brady is truly one of the toughest SOBs I have seen in sports. I think that because he never shows pain, people assume he is always fine. He has fought off some really bad injuries over the years.

Roethlisberger drives a motorcycle. Tom Brady wears Uggs. Scott thinks that means that Ben could hang with anyone on a football team. That's really what this boiled down to. Hell, Scott called Brady "maybe the best QB to ever play the game".

It was Bart Scott being stupid, but it's not something to really worry about. This is a Chinese food insult. in a half an hour, we'll be looking for another one.

Part of being a great QB is you don't take an excessive amount of tough hits.

Drew Bledsoe was one of the toughest QB's I've ever seen, which he had the opportunity to prove time and again. :D

For some reason, Brady doesn't get nearly the toughness cred he deserves for his QB sneaks.

The real question that should have been addressed in this article is: Why would anyone pay attention to an idiot like Bart Scott?

The guy is obviously making all this up. Revisionist history because he is jelly of Tom's success since he never experienced that himself.

A lot of D-Linemen (Strahan, Tuck, Bennett, etc.) beg to differ.

Probably because I don't consider tackling a QB in the chest to be a cheap shot regardless of how hard the hit is. I would also argue at your definition of cheap/dirty shot. If it's a clean tackle, and it comes at a legal part of the play (like Brady still has the ball), there's nothing cheap or dirty about it. It's just a hard hit. Who cares if he said he's going to try and put his face inside Brady's chest cavity? The point is he wants to hit him hard. That's what every defender should try to do

Unfortunately, millions of people see and hear this dink on the CBS pre game show every Sunday. That's why people pay attention to him. They assume that he wouldn't be on the panel if he were a jackass. They're wrong.

amazing how arrogant scott is. he seemed happy to say that he'd take gronk's knee out.
total scumbag, fitting that he played for baltimore/the jets.
