20 NFL Rookies Who Are Already Looking Like Disappointments

They also have Stephone Anthony on there, and he's far from a bust. He's not perfect but he's developing quickly and makes big strides from week to week. I would take this list with a grain of salt.

Brown has looked pretty terrible so far, but like supafly said, it's a weird list to make three weeks into the season. Most rookies look bad when they have to jump directly into a pro line-up right after the draft.

Who the F is "rant sports"???.. in the first three games:
Game 1.. 31 D Snaps or 35%
Game 2...21 D Snaps or 29%
Game 3...22 D Snaps or 39%

Not sure how you can evaluate any rookie after 74 Defensive snaps...

Was Vince turning heads in the early weeks of 04?

Playing DT as a rookie is not easy. I recall thinking at various times in 04 Vince looking bad. He was also sketchy in 05 then the moved him backwards to give him more of a line of sight so he could see the other lineman operate and it helped. He was off and running from there.

Brown has not been horrible. He's been very inconsistent. Some good plays and some not so good plays which for me was expected. Vs JAX he was not great. He's been playing about 30% of the snaps. He'll be better at the end of the season. He's too good not to be....just like Vince.

"...pretty terrible..." is pretty inaccurate and pretty premature.

There's a learning curve and the Patriots are fortunate enough to be able to give their rookies time to get "up to speed" without being thrown into the fire and suffering the consequences...

It's not inaccurate. Brown has been straight up bullied more times than not when he's out there. I also made a point that it's 'weird' to evaluate a rookie 3 weeks in and pointed out that most rookies will look bad going against vets to start their careers. So, yes, I already mentioned the premature part.

I would think you could pretty much put every rookie on the list after 3 weeks. Even the two QBs have looked inconsistent. Big surprise.

Vince wasn't an instant star, no doubt. That's why I said a list calling out 20 talented players and alluding to them being busts is 'weird'. It's way too early to tell what any of their futures hold. Brown may never pan out or he might be the next big name DT in football.

I do think he's completely overmatched right now and that's what I mean by terrible. He has a few flashes, but he's not ready.

After three weeks? After three weeks into his career, Wilfork was a bigger bust than Brown is. Wilfork's rookie season was unimpressive.

The accuracy is debatable. But I guess my question is this: "If it's 'weird' (your word) to evaluate a rookie 3 weeks in, why did you do it?"

Holy !@#$, are you serious? Because I'm on a football forum discussing a topic related to Brown's play so far. This list is about players that are looking 'like disappointments' and I straight up said it's too early to say that even if he's played poorly so far. Are you suggesting we pretend he's not out there when he's on the line until his rookie season is over? Talking about how a player has done so far and assessing his future play are completely different.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you are defensive about something I didn't do.

Didn't the best QB to play the sport ever, i.e. Tom Brady, only throw like three passes his rookie season? His big accomplishment three weeks in was being on the roster at all.

I knew you'd end up apologizing;).
