Just saw this on NFL Network (Sounds of the game? Forgot what its called) and I was wondering if anyone caught what the Ref said to BB and then BB thanked him. Something about the sideline I think? Unfortunately I still live in the 90s and don't have DVR to rewind and listen to it again. Sounded interesting though.

I think it's Inside The NFL, repeated at 12 Eastern on the Network

Sounded like the ref said "you have one of the best sidelines" or something like that.

He said BB had one of the best sidelines in the nfl I believe, BB thanked him and said he hopes he doesn't mess it up then told people to step back away from the line. It's up on nfl.com I posted the link above.

Love that line by BB "I get credit for everything bad", and then the Ref's response "Yeah, I guess thats right". Kinda shows that at least the refs know that BB's been screwed over by the NFL PR machine.

Yup..

Best Sidelines? Not sure what that means exactly, like as in the kids remembered to stay in the box? Is that really such an issue (in the NFL) that the ref had to comment on it? Or am I misunderstanding "best sideline"?

I feel bad for Gus Bradley. Coming over to Bill at the Start of the game telling him how much he respects him, then Bill saying ya, you got a good team, I can see where you're going. Then dropping 50 on him..

Tough love I guess. lol..

Lol I was thinking the same thing. BB's talking about how Gus is doing a good job and sees where he's trying to get to and then blows him up for 50. Ouch.

Thought the classiest thing was telling him "Hope you guys get healthy" at the end. Very subtle way of insinuating "Hey we didn't get your best shot."

EDIT: Also really love the interaction with McCourty here. When he gets on McCourty about missing the fumble, it isn't in a "let me ream this guy to motivate him" sort of way. It's almost a genuine disappointment like a teacher and a student, probably because he holds McCourty in such high esteem. Fascinating to see.

It actually is an issue a lot of times. Players get too close and the linesman and the people who handle the chains have problems... on the sideline, you constantly hear "coach, if you don't get your players back, I'm going to penalize you..."... some teams assign a person whose job is to keep everyone away from the sideline. I think he was just appreciating that they don't have to spend a lot of time telling them to get back...

When he gets on McCourty about missing the fumble said:
I saw that and thought BB meant that he'd cut him lol, cuz he said something like 'you get that and you're outta here'. Took me a second to figure it out... I admit I am slow. Also loved how BB was the first to congratulate him on his Int a little bit later.

I guess he meant not like the Jets Sal Alosi 2010 sideline or the Steelers Mike Triplin sideline....

That ref has to run up and down the sidelines the whole game. He is looking at the field and not necessarily at where he is going. I'm sure knowing that there is a relatively clear sideline makes his job easier and less of a concern for his personal safety and I think he was just thanking BB for that.

Here it comes. And you know to what I'm referring.

Don't let Kensil or Roger see this clip... their heads might explode.
