How many Hooman threads are there?

Those others either weren't there or I didn't see them when I posted mine.

I've tried them all and they're all good.

Nice, I like this trade a lot. Hicks provides instant value as a big body on the DL, definitely worth giving up the TE4.

Anonymous sources claim Hooman's form had been suffering. Claims to have heard McDaniels screaming "Damn it, stop using your teeth!" Hooman had also been complaining of a sore jaw as well.

He's a mediocre blocker and a mediocre receiver.

Agree on the mediocre receiver part but definately not on the blocker part.

There was a reason Belichick gave him a 2 year deal and intelligence, his run blocking as well as being able to play special teams was why.

He played in 22% of the Patriots snaps so he is definately a contributor. Hard to show anything more when your competing for snaps with probably the best blocking TE in the business.

Sorry for the edit

I find this quote from a Saints fan to be interesting.
So am I to understand that we traded a TE to fix the holes on defense and then, traded a defensive lineman to fix the hole at TE?

Holy Crap.

Hey, unless you're trading Champ Bailey or somebody of that Caliber, the guy you're getting back is by definition a Long Shot at making a Substantial Impact...But Akiem Hicks is a Top Shelf Talent.

However this works out, trading the Production & Potential of Oh Oh Chongo ~ who I like very much ~ for the Production & Potential of Hicks adds up to a spectacular Rip Off. If we can unlock and unleash Hicks's immense Potential, we could develop a SuperStar...And Mad Bill is just the guy to do it!!

*I rated Bostic as Highly OverRated a couple Years ago, and've been emphatically proven correct in my Assessment of a guy who went, inexplicably, in the 2nd Round!! But that is by no means to suggest that he couldn't develop into a valuable Reserve. Two outstanding Pick Ups by Mad Bill!!

Great trade! Get rid of a useless overpaid TE taking up a roster spot and add a big athletic disruptive DT which is what we need.

Others think VERY lowly of Hicks, interested to hear more from knowledgeable people instead of accepting fan opinions, lots of fans tend to have irrational hatred towards players without knowing specific assignments.

Well apparently BB doesn't.

I'll give you average blocker.

In the Saints Forum, Post #163...

This trade kicks *** from the Patriots perspective. They get a 3 year starter with Pro Bowl talent that probably only needed a change of scenery and all they had to give up was a journeyman 4th string blocking TE that just lost his job.

Just waiting for that interview where Hicks says he's thankful to finally be part of a functioning organization. Let's face it, things here are probably pretty bad behind the scenes.

Who wakes up and decide to trade for Hooman? Is it not strange?

Thrilled by this. One of my earliest draft binkies.

@GregABedard: Hicks has had motivation, focus issues. Either he gets his act together, or he'll be gone quickly. 3 tech with talent when on

I look forward to seeing what Hicks can do in NE.

And good luck to Hooman in NO.

Wonder if Flowers is going to IR?

Also what does this sat about Chandler Jones future when his contract is up at the end of the season.
Hicks is not an edge player he is 325lbs and that's after losing 30lbs in the offseason. He is listed as a DE because the Saints run a 3-4. It has no impact on Jones or Flowers.
