Hilarious to read this after the past 365 calendar days. Remember this time last year, writers declaring Brady done, F&M breathlessly discussing whether Garoppolo had to be given a shot, writers asking Belichick whether the QB position 'needs to be evaluated' (LOL!!!)? And it can't go unmentioned, some on here were asking if this was the end of Brady.

Fast-forward a year and it feels so...dirty, so incredibly wrong. If ever the exact opposite of what was being discussed played out, this is it. Brady not only dominated the rest of the regular season, he was a monster in the playoffs, leading two incredibly comebacks and annihilating the Colts, winning SB MVP in the process. In three games this season he's been among the best QB's stat-wise and, given their relative leads in the three games, it's fair to wonder if his numbers wouldn't be even better if they were seriously challenged in any way so far. Not only has he been 'vintage Brady', we might be seeing him at the best he's ever been.

Brady is so very far from being done...and I couldn't be more thrilled about that. Drown out the noise (SAS and the 8 page thread, for example) because the punditry is full of bleating goats who don't know their ass from their face. We're watching the best QB of all time, STILL in his prime, still dominating.

The real insult comes, IMO, when you compare this to Peyton Manning. Would anyone ever dare ask if the QB position was being evaluated, no matter how garbage Manning looks. It would NEVER happen. Ever. And if Rodgers went through a slump, would anyone ever suggest such a lunatic thing. Never. With Brady, people just couldn't wait to declare him done. A major, major insult.

I knew the Brady was done was BS a year ago and said so, nice to seeing the "experts" catching up a year later. What passes for journalism is empty entertainment for the most part.

I still don't get all the hate for Brady and what he has done. He has always been a humble guy who just wants to play football just like Manning and Rodgers. Yet, people are breathlessly awaiting his demise and lamenting that Peyton may soon be done. I guess success really has brought out the worst in others.

The presstitutes hate the guarded communication approach of Brady and BB. They love Manning as a good interview who was an anointed star due to gaudy stats. He was a fantasy football god. Now the media has moved onto Mr discount double check as the new anointed one.

During his time many thought Wilt was better than Russell. Most people don't understand winning vs individual stats in team sports.

However, when he came up (and won those Super Bowls), he was generally loved around the league. NFL fans seemed to love this new guy winning all these championships on a team that had never won before. Interestingly, it was, perhaps, all of the years the Pats were so successful (e.g. winning division; going to playoffs) that appeared to turn fans around the league against him.

In a nutshell: They don't want their team's chances challenged by Tom Brady (and the New England Patriots). And now that the Pats have won recently, this fear of playing Brady and the Pats has been renewed more or less. Ultimately, it's a compliment, regardless of how it's framed. :D

It's all jealousy, that's all it is. Brady has the dream life. Super model wife, great family, makes a fortune, and people hate the Pats because they keep winning. That's all it is. They were hoping he was done, Brady didn't cooperate.

I remember the second the KC game was done, I decided to tune out the media for the week. Didn't want to hear any of the predictable bull crap that would be spewed.

Only once did I listen to about a half hour of F&M because I was caught in traffic one day. It was nauseating....the trade Brady talk. Destroying the Bengals was oh so sweet.

I'm shocked at how different Brady looks in the pocket since that KC game. He doesn't duck phantom rushers anymore, he extends plays, he's more comfortable than ever. It's remarkable. As for anyone questioning his arm strength, just watch that seed he threw last game to Edelman for 20+ yards. The camera couldn't even keep up with the ball. He really looks phenomenal.

Can't wait to move from Cali and get back to NH so I won't have to deal with the hodge podge of NFL fans here. Something to be said about going to a bar to watch the game and having 99% of the patrons rocking the flying elvis.

Whatever happened to that poster that started that thread saying he couldn't take it anymore? That would be a good thread to be brought back up!

IDK where it went but Patrodamus hasn't been seen in a while. Funny thing is he posted that thread after the Jets game I think. So we had rebounded and were on a three game winning streak but he wasn't satisfied until we beat the stacked Denver offense.

Classic.
Brady might throw for 60 TDs, 6,000 yards, win a fifth Super Bowl just up the road from where he grew up and put an exclamation point on this season by snapping a selfie with Roger Goodell during the awkward presentation of the Lombardi Trophy, then hand the commissioner his iPhone. Mr. Goodell, I'd love for you to have this phone as a reminder of our time together.

Think he was "waived" for poor performance by the mods.. he might resurface if the Pats hit a bump in the road, perhaps under another name..

There is such wonderful dignity and genuine self effacing approach to a team sport that doesn't play well in our noisy world now. He should be the model for hard work, intelligence and desire bringing you your dream.

Ring Lardner ain't walking onto the ESPN set any time soon to reflect the truth of what's being presented as the now story. The story moves too quickly, late for it's next stop.

It happens from time to time whenever some of the creatures from the Political Forum wade into the real part of the website. :D

I honestly don't think Patrodomous knew what a quarterback was.

.

I remember taking the wait and see approach last year. I'm not sure too many people could predict the tear he's gone on. Again, insult Brady at your own peril...the fools around the NFL never learn, and for that, I'm grateful.

Sometimes I make football and Pats references in there and I wonder if they go over people's heads...

Say what you want about large media companies, including their personnel choices. SOME of those personnel still care about doing the right thing.

Kind of hilarious Brady dominates the headlines even during the bye week. ESPN was so quick to write him off, but what would they do without him?

Sadly, there are some posters here who slither out from under rocks only after any bad game the Pats might have. The Pats win, followed by the disappearing act from those grousers. This "Brady is finished" storyline was simply a more pronounced version of that.

The Pats (and Brady) will have bad games. They will lose occasionally. But it amazes me how many forget this is the ultimate team sport. No RB or QB works well without blockers. No QB can catch the passes he throws. Secondaries suffer without pressure. LBs suffer when the DLs can be handled by single blockers. Bad performances are rarely attributable to a single player. And BB is absolutely guaranteed to assess every player in any good or bad performance and take steps to improve the result. That is why this team has been so entertaining to watch over the years.
