I love this trade. We don't have much depth at LB, I personally think that Bostic is a talented and will help against the run. Great trade

We play an average of 2.2 linebackers. We basically have the following backups: Mayo, Freeny, Watson, and (Fletcher on PUP).

In addition, our DE's double as linebacker when needed. Ninkovich, Jones and Sheard are all more than acceptable as linebackers.
==========
So, while I agree that the trade is a good one (especially since Bostic is signed through 2016). I do think that we had good backups before he came.

I think BB is stockpiling quality players to compensate for the lost of upcoming picks. The more time in our system....the more they can adjust and contribute...

Yes, we play more 2 LB sets, but if the weather is crappy and teams are running to have the option of playing more a 4-3 and putting a player like Bostic in the rotation is a real positive. I would say that he probably moves behind Mayo on the depth chart and we only paid a 6th rounder

I see where the Bears are going with this...
...everyone knows the best place to find a GOAT QB is in the 6th round. Those crazy Bears are always one step ahead.

Mayo had a acute patellar tendon tear less than a years ago. As someone that does surgery to fix them, not even superman would be 100% at this point.

In fact, no guarentee he ever gets there.

The move makes us Deeper at Linebacker I love the move and if Mayo goes down again we dont have to pick up guys off the streets.

So do we assume Dekoda Watson is out once this is final?
Has this been announced?

He played a few years with Easley, right?

We have four projected 6th round picks (including Keshawn Martin). Why the hell not!

Thats not true. Nink could, but Sheard or Jones aren't playing LB, unless you consider a standing up DE to be a LB.
In a 4-2-5 base none of those guys are playing LB.

Imagine how he must feel, going from the worst team right now in the NFL to the best.

Going from Chicago Deep Dish to......when does Pepe's open in Chestnut Hill?

I hope that Tavon F Wilson is released to make room.

It makes sense to add another linebacker to the mix for the Forthcoming Cowboys matchup. Have to think, with Romo and Dez out, that we'll be in base a fair bit in that game. That might help explain why they released Cadet rather than a linebacker.

If any one gets released to make room it oughtta be Fletcher
