Patriots Were Beaten by Fake Punt in Practice

Robert Alvarez

When speaking to the media in his postgame press conference Sunday afternoon, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick noted that when the Jaguars unsuccessfully attempted a fake punt that the Patriots recovered during the third quarter, the team actually faile

Wow, Belichick is brilliant!

When Troy Brown, on the Comcast post game show with Koppen, mentioned BB's comments about this Felger mocked him in a questioning manner. Brown looked like he wanted to punch him and there were other moments when Koppen was clearly agitated with Vulgar, as well.

Not the most important play this year on which the scout team succeeded but the real opponent didn't ...

You mean he was suggesting that the Patriots videotaped the Jags punt team walk-through or some other such thing?

LOL, no he was suggesting that BB was lying when he said they had practiced the possibility of seeing the fake punt. In other words, BB was falsely portraying himself as a "defensive genius", an idea which Vulgar has ridiculed for a long time.

The reason they practiced it is because the Jags were practicing the play last week during the time that was available in to the media. Jags are stupid. The Pats also knew the Jags had a tendency to try this stupid play from watching tape on them from past games.

It is and always has been about the details and situational football, prepare for everything..

Were they messing with headsets or filming signals??? There has to be a scandal somewhere, anywhere..

This type of thing is almost expected.... when you watch the non Patriots games this weekend watch how woefully unprepared other teams are or how undisciplined they are..

I can guarantee the Pats will not be fooled by that fake punt reception where one guy on the receiving team fakes as if he is going to catch the ball on one side of the field, draws all the coverage to his side and another guy on the opposite side of the field actually fields the punt. Saw it last year and saw it again this year.

I saw the Seahawks run that. It was pretty awesome. Even the television cameras were fooled, and theoretically, they could see the ball.

I don't want to listen to any facts.
The Patriots cheated.
They now have their own satellite that can be positioned over any team's practice field. Code-named, Death Star I, it is also equipped with x-ray optics to see inside of closed practice facilities.
