BALTIMORE RAVENS Suck - 2015 Edition (Official): Conspirators Eat Crow

The reason why the Baltimore Ravens are 0-3 is because the New England Patriots cheated. Don't ask me how, but they must have done something. I believe Roger is working on that now... o_O

Yep! In another response I likened NE to Duke or Kentucky. Some years the team has more McDonalds All-Americans than others but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are not have a better or worse chance at being a National Champion.

Kentucky and Duke have had big ups and downs - Coach K (a.k.a. The Evil Rat King) has a remarkable run of excellence that is comparable to Dean Smith's 36-year run.

UNC under Dean Smith - 35 consecutive years with a winning record, 27 consecutive years with 20+ wins, 77.6% winning percentage over 36 years, 22 consecutive years in the NCAA tournament, 11 Final Fours, 2 NCAA championships, Dean was one of only two people to have played and coached on a Division I NCAA champion (the other was Bob Knight.)

The college basketball rule book was re-written due to innovations by Coach Smith - much like Belichick.

I believe the Baltimore Ravens from 2008-15 are the ideal model of success the NFL had in mind for the salary cap era. They are the gold standard as the team that is "great" but really isn't dominating. They win around 10-11 games most years, with 12 being the top. They play down to the competition a lot, promoting competitive balance. They can be beaten by any team on the road, so it's good for the morale of other franchises. They have major flaws and major ups and downs, but in the end they are usually a little better than their competition. They make the playoffs most of the time but aren't a lock.

This is Roger Goodell's vision of mediocre greatness. Unfortunately, the New England Patriots have urinated all over his vision, making the Baltimore Ravens seem like a JV team, while they are the greatest team of all-time playing in the era of planned mediocrity.

I should have known that you would chime in on my hoop reference. :p

Yes- comparing UNC to the Pats is a very good analogy.

What ups and downs at Duke are you referring to? When K had back surgery?

Kentucky is a death penalty waiting to happen.

so happy, i hope the ****birds lose all of their games. best receiver is 100 years old. lol
defense is also ****...too bad we don't play them this season.:(

Tunescribe, I disagree. Allow the prosecution to make it's case:

Q: "The Ravens have committed transgressions but have not quite earned the infamy required . . . "

A: Dude, they're singularly responsible for the biggest controversy regarding a player probably ever! I don't care what their organization came out and said regarding the matter. They were the catalyst for everything. Now, I know there have been rumblings that this started prior to that game, but I feel the true catalyst was Baltimore. We almost lost our QB for the first four games of the season after the fallout from the report.

Q: "They also need to demonstrate organizational incompetence to qualify . . . "

A: How do you define organizational incompetence? Was how they handled Ray Rice organizational incompetence? How about their coach, who has done nothing but show that here in the past few months. I know they have won. That's obvious. But let's not pretend they have been the model of consistency and are above reproach. Your point is taken that they aren't the Bears or the Lions, but they're not on the level either. The Giants fairly recently won a Lombardi, but I doubt anyone would confuse them with good.

Q: We might hate them for very good reasons, but creating a "Suck" thread in their dishonor doesn't quite work."

A: I feel I just made two pretty compelling reasons for why this thread does work. And even if said reasons are not as compelling as I'd like to believe, when is it EVER NOT a good idea to rag on the Ravens? Are you kidding me?!

Disclaimer: I know you'll probably miss this in your haste to respond and be right (we all fall victim), I wanted to say that my response was mostly in good fun. I do disagree that this thread "doesn't quite work," but it's really not that serious to me. I feel like the Ravens have made me somewhat miserable and deserve their own thread. I, personally, love to see them lose . . . ESPECIALLY a division game.

Q: What is the Ravens' current record?
A: 0-3

Q: And who were those losses to?
A: Denver, Oakland, and finally, Cincinnati at home.

Q: Is Joe Flacco's QB rating 82.2, with 4 TD and 4INT?
A: That is correct.

Q: Is there any receiver on the roster with more than 12 catches, not named Steve Smith?
A: No.

Q:What is Joe Flacco's current yards per completion, and where does it rank in his career?
A: Currently 10.5, the worst in his career.

Your honor, I submit that the Ravens actually do suck, and are meritous of their own thread.

I don't know if anyone had seen the Baltimore sb nation response to the Kraft comments. They mad

Only a Ravens fan would spend 750 words on how horrible Aaron Hernandez is (he is), but like 3 on how Ray "Where's the White Suit, Ray?" Lewis is "misunderstood".

This is glorious and worth a read. Baltimore fans melting down is an epic ****show in the making, and I will enjoy every minute of it.

Agreed and the rant about Hernandez and spygate comes from what, Kraft saying he felt bad for Baltimore. Way to show you are totally not butt hurt about being 0-3

Also, that right there, is the difference between Patriots fans and their organization, and the Ravens fans, and their organization.

Patriots Fans - Immediately distanced themselves from a multiple-murderer. The team cut him as soon as they found out he was being arrested.

Ravens Fans - Immediately latched onto a multiple-murderer's jock, and stayed there for the next 12 years or so, telling everyone who would listen how "misunderstood" he was. The fact that some in the NFL community bought it, speaks to their level of intelligence. Also, the team completely supported him, even when he was in jail, and pled guilty to a charge, despite throwing his buddies under a bus. Cris Carter approves, because Ray Lewis was smart enough to have had two "fall guys". Not to mention this is the M.O. for the Ravens, see Jamal Lewis, see Ray Rice.

The laughs in that 'article' are almost non-stop...

Yet a team that is known for saying little, they feel the need to open their mouths these days

it was only days later that he was arrested, tried, and convicted.

Not to mention that there is now others coming forward to say that this wasn't his only murder.

Don't forget Ray Ray's statue.

Thursday night conundrum.
It say a lot when you root for vick and the Steelers.
but an 0-4 Baltimore record is just too funny to let pass.

Best TV series ever. Two dozen significant characters, and everyone one of them flawed yet you end up rooting for almost all of them in some odd way.

I don't think it's the best TV series ever. I watched a few episodes and dumped it.

Then there you go. I only got to about episode four or five. LOL

I'll have to try again. I honestly have never heard anything bad about the show at all. Not one person that I have heard talk about it has said anything negative. That's why I was so shocked that I was still not feeling it that far in. I'll take your advice and at least watch four or five more episodes.

I didn't like it at all.

And you have to believe a loss on Thurs. night would make a playoff berth almost out of reach for them in that division. I say almost because the Bengals are like 6-0 to start the season every season and then they fade. You don't know what you have with the Steelers even with Big Ben, and you definitely don't know what they will be if he misses extended time. It is sounding like he will be back at some point this season. And Cleveland is Cleveland.

But Baltimore missing the playoffs would be awesome to me! I say that with so much respect to Steve Smith Sr. because I have been a fan forever. But I hate that organization. I hate their fans. I hate their coach. I really don't like anything about the Ravens other than Steve Smith Sr. and he's retiring after this season, so I won't have to worry about that anymore. Oh, and I still got luv for Arrington.
