I hear you, and Dobson isn't the only guy out there who's failing to come down with catchable balls, but...

It's now 3 games of Lafell's PUP stay, and time is running out for Dobson. He needs to be better with his hands, or he'll be watching games instead of playing in them. This team doesn't need unestablished WRs it can't trust to catch the ball.

No but it does need a big outside receiver who consistently gets open and behind the D. To make the Pats Offense go, they need lots of YAC after the dink pass, and a deep threat prevents the D from collapsing to limit those additional yards. Brady is NOT accurate with the Long Pass; and the catch radius has to be large to correct for that, which means a Big tall Wideout is needed. Flacco's offense used to be based on long passes that as often or not resulted in PIs as often as completions. If Harbaugh can steal BB's eligibility plays, BB can borrow Harbaugh's long PI plays too.

Couple of thoughts - just watched the game.

Dobson did some nice blocking, had a couple of catches and drew a 52-yard PI (and it was - he got grabbed by broke away, but never fully recovered his balance). I see no reason to feel down about him for this game. The drop was a tough pass - should have had it, but a tough pass, high and behind. Worst drop of the day was Edelman's and then White's.

That said, White played well - he's getting no spotlight because Lewis is playing out of this world, but it's nice to know he's there if needed. Still wondering if Cadet will be any good...can't have too many backs in a 19-game season.

Danny Amendola looked great. He'll be important against, say, Denver (with Talib and Harris). He and Brady seem to be firing on all cylinders much better than previously, other than the preseason that first year. I like that A LOT, in case JE gets nicked and needs a couple of weeks.

Didn't see Malcom Brown at all - was he inactive? Easley played well and Sheard played great, and the big guys, Siliga and Branch, played very well. Very excited about this D front-7.

Brady has so many targets this year, it's almost not fair.

Just from my memory of reading the snap counts this morning, it was something like Easley 39, Siliga, 23, Brown 22, Branch 17. But I agree that Brown was "invisible". I only ever see him getting pushed back or staying in the same place, but never really going toward the backfield. I've never been much of an Xs and Os guy, so is Brown's job to just keep people from getting past him or should he actually be getting in the backfield sometimes?

Interesting note and comparison:

Jacksonville began its franchise existence, on the field, in 1995.
Carolina began its franchise existence, on the field, in 1995.
Tom Brady become a starting QB in 2001.

Tom Brady is 163-47
Jacksonville is 148-175
Carolina is 154-168-1

That's right, boys and girls....

Tom Brady has more career wins than both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers franchises.*

*And that's not even counting the playoffs (Panthers 7-6, Jaguars 5-6, Brady 21-8)

And we wonder why they hate the Pats...seriously, that is unreal.

Farewell, JAGS WEEK! You were a great week and I will miss you dearly. We shall see if the byeweek presents more of a challenge to the Patriots than you did.

Lol

Watching the game now and apart from the first series, the Jags played hard. The Pats are just in a different league. I think the Jags may do better this year than people think (7+ wins). When the pats decide to turn their offense on, I think it might be unstoppable.

We took it to the Bills and then they beat up Miami (Miami was home)

We made the Jags look like jags. They were making progress and now they know what we are like. So, we can hand them off to Colts and hope they (Jags) respond like the Bills did. :D
