BALTIMORE RAVENS Suck - 2015 Edition (Official): Conspirators Eat Crow

I always thought there should have been a season of The Wire based on the Ravens. Their three best players on their last championship team were two domestic abusers and an accessory to murder.

Members of Mensa, they aren't...

season one is slow. but when you get to episode 9 or so it really gets good. i just discovered it on HBO on demand. im almost done with season 4. totally hooked.
Then there you go. I only got to about episode four or five. LOL

I'll have to try again. I honestly have never heard anything bad about the show at all. Not one person that I have heard talk about it has said anything negative. That's why I was so shocked that I was still not feeling it that far in. I'll take your advice and at least watch four or five more episodes.

I certainly dislike the Ravens for their whinyness, bogus refereeing complaints, and their general excuse-making attitude. Suggs and Harbaugh are especially bad.

Their connection to the deflategate sting is a LOT less clear, though.

What we know: The Ravens warned the Colts about funny business that they thought was going on with the kicking balls, which was probably TRUE: An NFL official was removing kicking balls from games to sell them. At least, he did it in the AFCCG and he probably did it in the division game too. So the Ravens noticed something going on that was in fact real, but they were wrong to assume that the Patriots had anything to do with it.

Before the AFCCG the Colts equipment guy then relayed the Ravens complaints about the kicking balls and added his own accusations about ball pressure, without saying where that second complaint even came from. Sure, it might have come from Baltimore and the colder weather division game. But... it may also have come from an Indy-NE game in Foxboro in the past, some cold-weather game where the Colts illegally gauged a ball on the sideline (like they did in the AFCCG) while being ignorant of pressure/temperature effects. It stoked their paranoia and they bundled it with the Ravens complaint.
It's not just about Deflategate though is it? Harbaugh's whining about the "never before seen" formations (and then stealing them) certainly puts the "Sweethearts" right up there on the hate list.

Hard to figure out who to root for as usual when the *****y Ratbirds and whining Steelers play on Thursday. Probably root for the Steelers because that would essentially knock out the Ravens from the playoffs at 0-4. It would boost the Steelers to 3-1, but their upcoming schedule after that is @SD, ARI, @KC, CIN. All four of those games are likely without Big Ben. They would probably be 4-4 after that stretch and find themselves in a huge hole to Cincy in the division and be on the outside looking in for the wild card.

The Dolts would be 0-3 too if the Titans cared the least bit about winning. These two pathetic franchises deserve the failure they are experiencing.

Now that the Colts have won I actually wouldn't mind them winning the next few. I want the fan base to start getting their hopes up so, maybe, Grigson is forced into talking about 'this year's chances'. Then week 6 rolls into town and obliterates their hopes. Next best will be they are 1-4 and the Patriots game is a must win to keep the season alive. Either way I want the Patriots throttling of them to contain extra sting.

After the game I will head to my usual destination, church, to pray for my fellow man...:)

It would have been perfect if Indy lost, as well; both teams going 0-3.

This could be a blessing in disguise. If the Dolts went 0-3 I suspect they would keep losing and then NBC would flex the Sunday night game out. This way we'll be able to humiliate the Dolts on national TV.

Which has me Indy thinking...if the Colts were to go on and lose every game, then they could acquire the #1 pick, again. And no one would suspect them of cheating because they accuse everyone else firstly of the same. Hey, it worked once, and they were rewarded with Andrew Luck (whom does not appear to be good with trigonometry). And this, Pats fans, is where Indy logic takes me... o_O

The Pats were better in their rebuilding year- not to be confused with years (i.e. plural). :D

I wonder if Luck would play along if Irsay asked him to engage in a "suck for Luck II" campaign.

An interesting question, indeed. Methinks they were putting it on him and he figured it out in the 4th quarter in game 3. Now, he's a problem. Perhaps, that's why the coach is implying that he is stupid (i.e. trigonometry comments)?

Your post is a really interesting one.

Besides 2000, what was the Pats rebuilding year?

If you define "rebuilding" as blowing up what was there before and sucking, they did not have one after 2000.

Terrell Suggs: Torn Achilles means career will surprisingly end from something other than criminal investigation
Didn't he already suffer a torn achilles injury a few years ago?

Definitely top ten of all time at the very least. Treme (about NO, post Katrina) is also an awesome show done by the same guy. Incredible music done by all the actual musicians from down there, and they all act in the show.

That's kind of misleading, though. This team's been rebuilding the defense for about 8 years.

Consider that the Pats have redefined rebuilding as it is colloquially used...which leaves us all with the question: When do the Pats rebuild? And if they do, how is it different from the rest of the league? Most teams take a 2-3 year dip, after climbing out of the proverbial cellar with their top picks. When was the last time the Pats selected #1 overall?

Look what Indy found it necessary to do when Manning went down...play for the #1 pick. Cheaters!

I agree. I was referring to the team in general.

In theory, the last year the team wasn't being considered as a Super Bowl contender was 2001.

Yeah, it's hard to call that rebuilding when you go to three SBs in the same period. First world problems!

Right.

I liken them to Duke or Kentucky in NCAA hoops. They are always in the National Championship discussion. They won't go 10-25 because they always pull in 3-4 McDonalds All-Americans every year.

Having Brady has made it so that it's been more like having a college that's loaded with 4 star recruits:

"We don't rebuild. We reload."

Having said that, though, just imagine that 2011 secondary/defense if the team had been putting out an average QB that season.
