Since the very well documented loss last year to KC, one that many probably still remember vividly, not just the loss but all the grave talk about the end of the Brady era, the New England Patriots have done this:

Taking away the Week 17 loss to Buffalo which shouldn't count because they were resting so many starters, THE PATRIOTS ARE 16-1 IN THEIR LAST 17 GAMES.

The only real loss came at Green Bay, which is along with New England the most difficult place in the NFL to win, and they only lost that game by a possession.

Not a bad rebound after losing that KC game last year! It is funny now listening to one fool after another proclaiming that "they just aren't good" and "the mystique is gone" after that loss. 16 out of 17 with a Lombardi in there.

Gronk doesn't drop that one in the end zone, they beat the Packers too.

Let's be fair: Gronk doesn't drop it, and they take the lead with about five minutes remaining. The Patriots could not stop the Packers to even get the ball back, and the Packers had already driven deep into the Patriots territory again before running out the clock. Not so sure they stop Aaron Rodgers, who for the most part had his way with them.

In the first half.

In the second half, the Patriots defense had Green Bay clamped down. They only gave up, what, 6 points in the second half?

Significant decline.....

I love your post, but can someone please change the title to this thread lol

EDIT: Thanks Mod

You know, one day, Tom Brady is gonna not be Tom Brady and I'm really ok with that. You know why, cos Tom Brady isn't gonna make any excuses about it. At this point, I've been so blessed to be able to watch the GOAT writing the history books in my lifetime. How lucky I am. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride, one game at a time.

I remember reading 2 of Minihanes opinion pieces. I read of them after the super bowl. The first he stated that Brady was done because he was old, had declining stats and "this is how it ends". The second was an admission that he had been wrong about Brady but that he would still not win the super bowl nor would he win an MVP. I think that was the last opinion piece he has written. :D

Nothing wrong with losing a close one to the Packers in GB. I think that game could have easily gone either way. That big catch and run Nelson made was play of the game and the Pats don't usually give those up.

Yes, we have one of the best teams ever because the miracle play went our way in the last SB, as opposed to the Giants way after the 2007 season.

One year ago today, Patriots were crushed by Chiefs in Kansas City, 41-14. Since then, New England has lost only 1 meaningful game since.

Since that time, here are some of the other key points (via ESPN's Stats & Information) that reflect how that game was the Patriots' turnaround:

  • No team has a better record in the NFL (16-2, including playoffs). One of those losses came in the 2014 finale when the Patriots had already clinched a top seed and rested many key players.
  • Including playoffs, no quarterback in the NFL has a higher Total QBR (80.9) than Brady.
  • No quarterback has more touchdown passes (48).
  • No team has averaged more points per game (34.2), as the Patriots have scored 30 or more 11 times in that span, most in the NFL. They have scored 40 or more eight times in that span, again a top NFL mark.
  • Including playoffs, they have outscored opponents by 260 points. For perspective, the Jaguars and Buccaneers haven't scored 260 points in their 15 games over that span.
  • Tight end Rob Gronkowski has 101 receptions since the loss to the Chiefs (16 more than the next-highest tight end), 1,489 receiving yards (424 more than the next highest tight end), 16 receiving touchdowns (the only tight end in double-digits over that span) and 161 targets (fifth among all players).

And even that one was an non-conference game on the road.
