Idle thoughts - the no win edition

This is what I think
1) I think that people who get distraught over what the media HASN'T said yet should find a hobby that gets them through Sunday mornings. There has to be better options than building strawmen :)

I am so conditioned by years of being a Red Sox Fan and being Pats fan prior well before 2001, I always worry.. and the adage of "On any given Sunday" is deeply ingrained..

I believe they will win handily, but always worry...

In other news...Michael Irvin says the Patriots will run the table(regular season) citing all the BS the league put Brady thru and now they're going to pay. He mentioned this last week too I believe. But this was a "Perfect Pats" segment where they ask when they will lose.

Kurt Warner said week 7 rats because of rats' corners. Faulk said against the Texans because of all the ex-patriots on that team. And Mariucci said against the Donkeys.

Conclusion, Michael Irvin loves the Patriots(as we already knew)
I hate this undefeated talk in week 2. Its so stupid.

No such thing as a no-win. Don't get caught up in the crap. If the Pats win, they win. Period.

So were you happily surprised by the game's result?
JAX doesn't even look as good as the Colts against us. And the Colts made it to the AFC Championship game.

I feel this is another statement game by the Pats. IE If you think you can hang with the best in the league, there's a whole new level you need to be at to compete with that squad from New England.

And the scary part of all this... the Pats aren't even playing their best in all 3 units yet.
I'm still expecting our defense to grow. The first half was very good limiting the Jags to 3 points, but they had a bit of a let down in the second half, giving up 10. However it was blowout territory/garbage time.

What will be most interesting is to see how the defense responds in close games. And I honestly don't expect a lot of those in 2015 having watched the first 3 games of the season. This Pats team will continue to get better, and steamroll as usual in November/December.

My thought...this team is dam good and i can't see a team about to slow down this O...i hope

And you were 100% right. On PFT, they are complaining on how the Patriots love to run up the score....

Perhaps they need to cover pop warner football or petition the league for a mercy rule. Until then, the Patriots will continue to play the game and they did (in my opinion) change their offensive game plan by pulling the skills position players and get some practice work with the 2nd unit.

Someone should point out to they that there are tie-breakers concerning scoring.

and the Patriots lost the division twice due to tie-breakers (2002 & 2008 I believe) and BB likes to cover all his bases (though those 2 seasons didn't come down to points, but you have to look ahead).

Probably Arizona in 2012. Strange game though. AZ blocked a punt, TB was off, AH got hurt, Then AZ fumbled. Then Ghost missed a game winning FG.
Let's not forget: NE scored a TD to make it a 2-point game but missed the conversion. Spikes forced a fumble on AZ's next possession that NE recovered. And NE scored the go-ahead TD on a long Woodhead run right before that missed FG but it was called back because of a hold on Gronk. Crazy game. And they still only lost by two points.

Did they happen to mention how the NFL* loves to trump up some charges against the Pats, and create other charges out of whole cloth to give them an excuse to steal 1st rounds draft picks from the franchise and accuse the GOAT QB of cheating, and thus diminishing his accomplishments, thus pissing off the entire organization, sending them on mission to destroy the whole cheating, scummy, NFL*?

I'm guessing they didn’t.

I certainly hope the Cards were accused of running up the score as well. But I'm guessing crickets.

Well, if you see a pit bull my advice is not to poke it with a stick.
