Bradley Fletcher benched; Coleman active

Hard to imagine he could be worse so may as well give him a shot.

If Fletcher was still with the Eagles. Not only would he b active, he'd b getting playing time today. A major criticism of Chip Kelly has been his inflexibility and refusal to accept mistakes

I remember when people here were insisting that Fletcher didn't suck...

There may have been some insistance, but I believe most of it was hope, hope that he was ruined by a bad culture in Philly and would revert to his less-sucky form from 2 years ago instead of his 2014 form being who he simply is now.

Reiss called it. They were lucky to end up with two starters, but slot corner is unfilled and Fletcher might be a reserve "big corner" for situations.

Not discouraged. Better than i though it would be after the exodus of so many CBs and quality like Revis. As long as they keep looking for a puzzle piece, I'm fine.

Run defense and CBs average? Pass rush promising, but work in progress. Safeties and linebackers-outstanding.

I've heard a lot about the Jaguars running attack the last few days so that leads me to believe the Jaguars are going to have their worst running game this season. :D

I will say this...the mediots did their best to build this game up this week.

Their best was "bold predictions" that we put up 50 and Brady throws for 7, I guess that's good national hype, right? :D

The trade deadline is week 8. By then some teams will know what they are for the year. I can see the Pats making a move for a CB at that point. They are thin and are going to want to solidify that unit for a playoff run.

As much as I might agree, I wonder who is available... and the cost. There are not a lot of guys who can fit into this D without adjustment issues..

Any scenarios?? Not too many teams quit on promising corners..

Would the saints trade keenan lewis? Any idea what his cap number is?

Hooman inactive too. There goes the 4TE spread. And when do we get to see Trey Flowers in action? Just losing out on the numbers game I suppose. Nice to see Easley is, at least, available to play.
Does Grissom have more special teams value?

I can only guess that that's why he's getting the nod. He plays on special teams, perhaps Flowers doesn't? Only a guess mind.

It is a concern. Can we stop a concerted running attack with current personnel. Like the Peyton colts [sorry] we might have an offense so powerful we can ignore the run, but I'd prefer balance.

It's not that we need wilfork back -we made a conscious decision to go with a different type of D - we do need to prove we can stop it situationally, because we may run into a better team that wants to play ball control and defense.

Backup cornerbacks are backup cornerbacks. We aren't going to mortgage the future to trade for a backup cornerback.

Biggest disappointment for me remains to be Flowers, not that he's done anything disappointing I'm just really excited to see what he can finally do after his pre-season dominance and the suspense is killing me.

He looked like the real deal, hope they're just being safe and with Easley returning there is too much pass rush depth ahead of him.

Only confused that Grissom is playing over him, especially when Grissom is being used as a 250lb DT, I have to think Flowers could fill that role far better.

We are pretty rich at DE right now with Jones, Ninko and Sheard. Grissom gets the nod over Flowers because he can play DE, DT, LB and Special Teams. That's huge.

Good to see Coleman getting a shot, he can't do any worse than Fletcher. A little surprised about Rufus sitting, especially with Trey not being active.

I think with Rufus it's more about Easley being active or not.
