It's like back in the day when we had Bill Lenkitis with Pete Brock backing him up. Big part of the still standing and probably won't be broken anytime soon NFL team rushing record of 3165 yards set by the 1978 Patriots. A dominant line can lead to wonderful things.

With a record 4 individuals rushing for over 500 yards - Grogan, Cunningham, Calhoun & Ivory

I only count 3 tackles. I count Williams as a TE. For me, our 4th OT is on the Practice Squad, as was sometimes the case with our lines in the past.

Well, although I agree with your overall thought re: overreacting after two games, one of the points is that we're seeing TWO groups step up and play solid on the OL when our top two IOL are out. That's huge.

Andrews/Kline
Mason/Jackson

And for what it's worth, Kline has played just as well as Andrews, and is more experienced, so it is a BFD, actually. He finished the 2013 season strong, started in 2/3 postseason games in 2014, and has started and played well in both games this year. As a matter of fact, I believe that he played in all 86 snaps at BUF, and has been effective at both LG and RG. He also started vs. Pittsburgh, and played either LG or RG in 4/5 of the personnel groupings that were used.

Overall, it gives us SIX interior linemen when Stork/Wendell get back, with FOUR tackles. That's a starter and a backup at all five of the positions before any injuries. Those who wish to make moves are foolish, in my opinion. This is hardly an area to take lightly, and many of us had 10 OL on the 53 man roster anyway.

I tend to agree that Fleming is the 4th tackle, and that Williams is the 4th TE.

I suppose technically we only have 9 OL at the moment, with the luxury of carrying the 10th on the PS until injury occurs.

He has been very good but I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop in terms of his play. I hope in wrong, you can never have enough o-line depth

I still only count 8 OL's on our 53. Who am I missing? Are you counting Stork? Stork will not be a roster issue for several weeks.

OT: Solder, Vollmer, Cannon
C : Andrews, Wendell
OG: Kline, Mason, Jackson

Yes, I'm sorry. I am indeed counting Stork.

You're right. Technically, he isn't counting due to the IR-DTR.

Don't ask me why I'm still awake, but I just finished watching a Totall Access segment on the NYFLN
with Mike Mayock called Low-Hanging Fruit, in which he talked about the C/Gs' success keeping
Brady almost totally clean. I'm starting to become less unimpressed with them, including Andrews.
Still hoping they will some day experience the satisfaction of successfully running the ball down
the other guys' throats in the 4th quarter to close the curtain.

Bingo. Consistency is key in all positions but especially as center.

I doubt he will play very well against the Bills in Buffalo. But then again there are not many centers that would.

Week two.

Bingo. More consistency.

I think that's called the "rookie wall". Remember, the bye week is very early this year so coaches et al will b closely monitoring all Olinemen

Only breaks down three plays, but it shows how well coached they've been and how they've taken to that coaching.

Awesome vid. Shaq Mason's got some serious agility and power. He's gonna be special. When Stork and Wendy come back, this may be the best interior OL Brady has had. I never thought the question mark of an Interior OL would turn into a strength so quickly.

Maybe.

Andruzzi, Woody and Compton in 01,Neal, Koppen and Mankins in 07 and Mankins, Connelly an Watters in 11 were also excellent.

Agreed about 07 and 11, that why I used the word "may". These guys are a lot younger and cheaper.
Yep. I'm loving what Jackson and Shaq are doing after only two games. If they continue to improve at their current rates not sure they'll be better than say Mankins or Watters but what matters truly is how they perform as a unit.

I think Andrews sits once Stork comes back but he unquestionably has done more than just hold his own.

I agree thatBB is definitely playing Williams (admittedly a binky of mine) at TE, and he even had a 15 yard reception last week. He is an excellent blocker (see Trent Richardson's career at Alabama) with OT size and very good hands, but not a speed demon or someone that will juke you out of your shoes. BB is using Williams in kind of a unique, out-of-the-box type of way, effectively a sixth lineman at the TE position.

However, I question if Williams is the "4th" TE. He has played 26.5 % of the snaps in the first two games, compared to only 15% for Hooman, and Hooman is inactive today. That sounds to me like Williams has scooted up the depth chart to number 3 TE.

Wow, we have two intelligent centers in Andrews and Stork. It will be interesting to see what BB does. You don't really want to rotate centers, i wonder how both of those guys are at guard
