Darrelle Revis is a Twat

I will always think about that 2008 season had brady not gotten hurt. Ughhh
Dont lament over it. Their pass D, 3rd down and red zone D was one of , if not the worst in the NFL. Even with TB they would not have won the SB. Plus their TO ratio was very average.

Brilliant move by Revis.

1) With a simple click of the "like" button, we are talking about Darryl Revis on a Saturday morning
2) With a simple click of the "like" button, Revis has aligned himself with the fan bases of 31 NFL clubs
3) With a simple click of the "like" button, Revis has promoted his Twitter account and likely expanded his following

Revis is playing chess on social media and winning big.

Then there is the hidden agenda involved. If New England fails to repeat as SB Champion, the Revis advocates can very easily argue NE could only end their decade of disappointing endings because of the one true difference maker, Revis....and NE has resumed their pattern of losing the last game of the year.
"They have Tom Brady but they can't win it without Darryl Revis."

PS......lots of comments in this thread disparaging Revis and his choice to rejoin the JESTs......the stingiest points against defense in the NFL....so far. I've only seen one JESTs game this year......and Revis was THEE difference maker. Don't assume its the Same Old Jets .....just yet (give them time though :) )

Despite Revis being a little *****, and his play dropping off in the postseason compared to the regular season, I definitely hold Revis in higher regard because he actually contributed to a SB winning season. That's all I care about. Nothing else matters to me
Revis was elite in the regular season. Save for the 1st quarter vs Steve Smith and a few plays vs SEA, he was almost the same player in the post-season.

It's funny that he's getting **** now for the terrible PI vs Smith and the ref pick play now that he's not a Patriot.

Not sure I've seen anyone **** on him for the bad call PI, it was the TD and the holding that negated the strip sack and recovery by Collins, which after Baltimore drove 60 yards and kicked a FG.

Wait, you're saying the Jets are built from free agency?
Revis is home grown talent. He just grew too damn much. He became extremely expensive and we let him go after the injury. Coulda had him back last season (and prevented another Pats SB), but Idzik was an idiot.

Beyond that, let's just look at the D (one of the best in the game).

Dline: Wilk - drafted, Harrison - undrafted but here since a rookie, Richardson - drafted, Williams - drafted

LBs: Harris - drafted, Davis - drafted, Mauldin - drafted, Coples - drafted, Pace - FA but been here a while

Secondary: Revis - drafted, Cro - FA but been here a while, Skrine - FA, Pryor - drafted, Gilchrist - FA, Milliner - drafted

Not really built via free agency at all.

I wonder what would have happened with the Jets if Pennington had stayed healthy.

Damn it man.....what could have been.

Instead you have to live with this..

Just ribbing you. :D

Anyways the Jets have a top defense. 10 turnovers in 2 games is insane. It will be a good game. Not sure about the Jets offense though.

I think there was some mild criticism of Revis' play on this board after the BAL and SEA games.

Ugh. There is evidence to support that Revis was both excellent and sucky in the Super Bowl

The Good

The Bad (SEA site but I found this to be pretty balanced)

He had some sketchy plays vs BAL but was fine after the 1st qtr. He wasn'.t touched vs IND

Ha, yeah yeah. You mean you're not sure about this guy?...

Actually good to see him having fun. Who knows, he's sort of Pennington-like. Probably in the best situation he's been in, throughout his whole career. We'll see what happens. Also decent chance Geno is playing by the time week 7 comes.

Regardless, it'll be a fun game as always.

I think people are misunderstanding how the "Favorites" lists on Twitter are actually used.

It's for tweets you want to find later. Sometimes, the reason is that you really liked the tweet. In other cases, it might be because there's a link in it you want to read (but not immediately). Revis seems to use his Favorites list both ways.

This doesn't surprise me really. I never really thought Revis fit in with the Patriots. Personality wise. He was/is always great on the field but he seems to have a pretty smug personality that can rub people the wrong way. Too cool for school so to speak.

Great player, just taking a jab at a division rival, not a really big deal. After all it is in his best interest to have 12 on the sidelines. I respect him for his play, but not so much for his ethics.

Not really built via free agency at all.

Revis and Cromartie were absolutely acquired via free-agency. The fact that they had been on the team prior is irrelevant. Ditto for Marshall, Gilchrist, Skrine, Carpenter and Decker.

I don't necessarily think that is a bad thing. That said, I think it's slightly disingenuous to say the Jets haven't done precisely what the poster whom you quoted claimed they have -- that they have, at least in the past, collected higher priced players, or a higher priced player, as opposed to building a sound, deep team from top-to-bottom. That does appear to have changed to some extent over the last 5-6 years, thanks largely to quality drafting in the first round.

Eh, Ravens got away with so much holding it's hard to ***** at him for that call. It's so funny there's not a peep about the refs when they try to give Baltimore a game. Refs damn near cost us a SB that day.

FWIW: It takes a combination of FA and Drafted to build a team.

Jets Roster: Players whose original team was NYJ. (Includes Revis) 26 Players

Pats Roster: Players whose original team was NE Patriots: 35 Players

True thats why i am hoping our defense gets better then what it has shown. Defense still wins championships. Secondary has to get better.

Of course Revis wants Brady to serve the suspension. How else will he have any chance at all of getting back to the playoffs?

It will. Its very early.

Well, of course he doesn't want to face Brady. :)

The butt hurt around here isn't really new. It's just got more specific targets than usual.

Funny coming from someone that reacts the way they do anytime they get a dislike/disagree let alone when someone disagrees with them via a post.

You can take the Jet CB out of Jersey but you can never take the dooshieness out.

BTW, You have a big problem when your teams highest paid player is a CB.

Man, judging by the comments here, it's pretty obvious that a lot of you think the grapes were going to be sour anyway.

Good comedy
