Hey Norman Julius......

If IRC, he was one of the first really high percentage completion guys.
I thought that too, but his stats don't indicate that he was. His predecessor Ken Anderson was before my time, but I know he was known as a shorter-range completion % guy.

Ken Anderson, his predecessor in Cincinnati, was the super high percentage guy and arguably the first QB of the West Coast offense, with Bill Walsh being his QB coach before he went on to fame, fortune, and rings in SF. Short, crisp slants to guys on the move, that was his trademark. First guy over 70%, IIRC

Boomer aired it out a lot more than Ken Anderson did, and of course had that MVP year. A good lefty QB for a number of years but finished up a washed-up Jet.

Yeah, I think it was actually Ken Anderson I was thinking of.

and what's wrong with Boomer?

I wasn't thinking when I posted that. I have deleted it. I apologize..

I was trying to rag on Esiason.

I cut Boomer some slack simply because of this gem. The death stare from Marino is TV gold:)

Long Island born Jets fan. Same guy that had the Colts as the best team in the AFC 2 weeks ago, Pats # 5

Norman, have you been drinking?

Wasn't Boomer Esiason the guy who when the CBS crew was talking about BB as possibly the greatest coach of all time - he then chimed in with "yeah but spygate"[/QUOTE

I remember watching this when it happened. It was very awkward..

Boomer is not different than any other sports personality, he tells people what they want to hear in hopes he will be liked on social media..

To his credit he has developed a very good product and many millions off sports broadcasting.. I will never view him the same again..

I heard this on the radio yesterday, and although I was shocked I should not have been.. people with inflated egos do stupid things..

No worries. I was just having fun with my response.

Boomer is just a nickname I got years ago. Buddies and I were out golfing and a few drinks in I smoked a pretty good drive. One of my buddies yelled "Boomer" and the name stuck.

Sports media is as credible as a WWW storyline. good guy wins in this city, bad guy in that. good guy becomes bad guy. Lather, rinse, repeat.

If I was going to listen to pregame propaganda, which I don't, I like Boomer as much as any of them.

That's a great way to get a nickname.

Did you call it a "tater?"

He called Brady the greatest ever as the cameras were cutting to commercial on CBS on Sunday. That was a genuine moment and not for the cameras as far as I could tell. So I doubt he's anti-Patriot. He may have his suspicions and he's entitled to, but I think he also recognizes greatness, if for no other reason than the fact that he played in the league and knows the struggle.

Personally, I couldn't care less what he or anyone thinks about the case anymore. Whatever will be will be. Brady will be on the field tomorrow and I guess that's all that matters to me in the present. Those who want to believe he did something and still deserves to do the time for the crime and that he only cheats to win can go right ahead. What the f**k does that have to do with me and how I feel about my team and my QB? Whether it's Boomer, Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, The Steelers and Philly's organizations or the guy in the cubicle next to me at work, who the f**k has time for that anymore. I'm on to Jacksonville. I'll be on to a bye next. And so on. Done.:D
