Rex: I won't make the same mistakes in Buffalo. Yes you are!

Rex is about flash. He speaks loudly and takes the blame in the hope that his players bail him out. He's a leader that leads by bravado not substance. It sounds good to the unwashed masses and the players but it lacks what's required to stay on top.

Rex wants to overwhelm you with exotic blizes and pounding the ball down your throat to show you how tough he is but his lack of self-awareness and non-interest in learning from anything other than his personal experience is antiquated. It looks good when it works but it's a disaster when it doesn't because he doesn't know another way.

Rex is trying to build a house with just a hammer as his tool. It makes a lot of noise and is intimidating when you hold it next to a screwdriver but when you try tightening a screw with a hammer, you see how inappropriate the tool is for the job. BB is a master carpenter with a tool for every job. He knows what to use and when to use it. The hammer sound makes you think there's a lot of work being done when you hear it from a distance but it could be making a big mess trying bang that screw with that hammer. BB quietly gets the job done with his screwdriver.

Thought that article was really good and quite accurate. Rex knows his Xs and Os, nobody doubts that. His schemes are creative and difficult for even the GOAT QB to diagnose. The problem is how he handles players. They love him, but probably don't respect him. I would imagine it's incredibly tough to maintain a healthy distance between yourself and the athletes. They're grown men and probably guys you'd love to have a beer with after practice. Rex doesn't maintain a healthy distance between himself and his players, so he can't impose any sort of accountability and discipline. Of course they love him--he let's them do what they want and they get paid a lot of money to do it.

Not looking for anything dramatic. I hope looking someone in the eye while shaking hands isn't considered dramatic nowadays.
Yeah I guess. I'm just pretty sure Bill's done a couple of blink-and-you'll-miss-them handshakes too. No big deal.

The thing I picked up from Rex's PC was that whereas in the past he'd come across as a jovial blowhard this time he had a bit of Dennis Green edge. The pressure of his act serially failing may be getting to him.

Belichick definitely has done those kind of handshakes before. Not surprisingly those were treated as a big deal, especially during Mangini's time with the Jets.

I really like Rex Ryan, but you can't change who you are bro. You aren't going to suddenly be disciplined and maintain the professional distance required to be an elite coach. You'll always want to be their buddy, and this will always lead to disorder among the ranks.

I understand that it's pretty much impossible for these guys to turn down a head-coaching job, because who knows when the next one will come around.

Having said that, I think it would've been a million times better for Rex to take a year off, do a TV gig or something, and then come back to coaching. This has just been a blur and he clearly hasn't learned a damn thing.

Sure, we know he has. But when was the last tine he did that after talking big and saying how everyone hates X team?

Surprised no one has mentioned this but...

foot in mouth?

It's whom he is

If the Jets beat the Bills, all hell is going to break out in Buffalo.
I hope that doesn't happen, frankly.

I really, really, Really despise the NYFL Jesters.

In fact, I hope that Wrecks & the Billiards beat the Sewer Yorkers within an inch of their lives.

Rex Ryan is a carnival barker.

Rex Ryan has a losing record as a head coach. Why people insist on pimping this guy as some great coach is beyond me.

Rex Ryan is a blowhard and everything about America shows that we like blowhards

Rex made the mistake of thinking that because he beat the softest team in the NFL, his team could intimidate the Pats. bad move, the Pats were actually trying to bury the Bills, that is the only reason the game got even close.

BB exposed Taylor for what he is, a spread option QB. That riddle has already been solved by BB, stuff the running game, keep him in the pockect and make him beat you with accurate throws.

Now Rex is already in trouble in Buffalo. If they lose to the Phins today, the Bills will be 1-2 (0-2 in the division) with only 6 home games left ( today is Miami's home opener). They would have 2 division losses and the rest of the AFC east will have none.

That's just his act. He sees himself as bigger than the players and thinks it's manly to faux take the responsibility for the loss. He needs to discipline his players not be their buddy/cheerleader.

Let's take a look at this act via The Money Prism. Oh, what do ya know! This act rakes in a lot of dough. That Rex is quite the baker... o_O
