9/25: NFL STILL Digging The Hole Deeper Against Brady

The only way the NFL can win this is if they get Pontius Pilate.

Hallucinogenic drugs are obviously in ample supply at NFL offices. Source is flat-out wrong. No decision this year

2 thoughts:

Maybe the NFL is going to suspend Brady for a different, absurd reason this season. Upsetting all those fans in Buffalo last week or not doing an on-field interview after the season opener, perhaps.

I'd say the NFL has doubled down on stupid with this case, but aren't they way beyond that at this point? Are they quadrupling down? Quintupling?

Florio points out (what we already discussed in the past) that even if the NFL wins on appeal, the likely outcome would be that the case would be remanded back to Judge Berman because he hasn't ruled on all the NFLPA arguments. So even if the NFL gets the Second Court of Appeals to hear the case in the next few months and the rule in the NFL's favor, there is still no shot of Brady serving a suspension this year.

At this point they have no choice to see it through until the end. Not surprised at all despite their chances being slim.

LOL ... the CBS piece is dated September 4th and it's a rehash piece ...

Here's a fun hypothetical: The Pats win the AFC Championship. Early the following week, the Appeals Court overturns Berman. What does NFL do? Does Roger suspend Brady for their marquee game, SB50?

Who knows whether this nonsense is created by one of the ex-jests morons working in the NFL offices or a media clown desperately trolling for clicks?

Either way its getting annoying seeing so many of these stories started on comments from "unnamed sources". If someone doesn't have the grapes to put their name behind their comments, then they shouldn't get a story created about them

Expect a steady drip drip drip of thia kind of crap every week or so. The league is shameful. They act like a bunch of school kids.
Is there any doubt that they are trying to distract Brady throughout the season? Not saying it will succeed, but they will continue to try.

Isn't the use of the word "mind" and "NFL Source" in the same sentence a contradiction in terms?

.............

“What this person doesn’t realize,” WFAN host Boomer Esiason responded, “(is) that they all felt the same way prior to Judge Berman’s ruling. But what they didn’t know is that Judge Berman was going out to The Hamptons to hang out with (Patriots owner) Bob Kraft.

(My note, what people especially the haters refuse to acknowledge that John Mara was at the same party and a chance encounter at a party AFTER the ruling doesn't mean anything)
.
The only problem is if it does go back to Judge Berman for any reason, then the NFL can claim the "appearance of impropriety" which is the standard for judicial conduct. This is where a layperson may question the ethics of those involved... Kraft would have been smart to avoid all contact until after the final appeals are decided. Considering how the NFL has acted in this case, it's not worth even the slightest action that might be questionable...
