Brady to play another 10 years?

He could win 6 or 7 SBs and shatter every single record.

It doesn't even need to be 10 years. 6 or 7 would be good enough.

Honestly, Brady will probably retire after he wins his next two rings this season and next. He likely doesn't want to feel like the old man playing a young man's game and he would have achieved everything except Manning's meaningless TD and yards record. I think he just saying 10 years to boast about his dedication and to keep us happy. Gi wouldn't allow him to play past 40.
All I can say is that you don't know Brady.

I would gladly take another 4 years of Brady then turn the keys over the Jimmy and maybe have him for 10 years. This is a ride that I don't want to end.

Besides, football in 15/20 years will probably be a complete and total mess due to the massive issue of concussions floating over everything, so lets enjoy it while we can because it literally might not exist not too long from now.

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but if Jimmy G. has the potential to become an elite-caliber quarterback, then I'd rather develop him sooner than to have him wait 7 or 8 years and not play in his physical prime.

That said, I think Brady is more than capable of winning another Super Bowl -- perhaps even two -- before his contract ends in 2017.

If Brady plays until 2020, then to honestly say you "grew up watching Brady", you could realistically have been born anytime between 1985 and 2010 (under the assumption that you "really" get into it around age 10 and it's too late if it was after age 15). Not bad.

I'm not sure you do agree with that poster.

Let's say TB DOES play in NE for 8-10 more seasons. That alone would put him in GOAT discussions...playing til George Blanda's age. But you can bet Hatriots will be trying HARD to link Lance's doctors to him

FWIW George Blanda played until he was about 48 and played at an MVP level for one year in his 40s winning about 5 games in the last minute with either TD passes or field goals one year.....

Brady is already the GOAT both regular season and of course playoffs. The question is how out of range he will put the existing records. Wins regular season, winning %, and of course playoff starts and wins.

The player in 3rd place winning % regular season, J Montana, has a 117-47 record, Brady has 162-47 record. That is 45 more wins, and counting with the same number of losses. As to the playoffs, Brady has 5 more wins and 1 more loss, 2 more conferences championship wins and 2 more conference championship appearances, and 2 fewer one and outs.

I meant even without considering his "Mr January" performance, etc

Wonder how many people can name the 6 QB's selected ahead of Brady ... other than Tom of course.

1: Chad Pennington - 18th - 81 starts
2: Giovanni Carmazzi - 65th - 0 starts
3: Chris Redman - 75th - 12 starts
4: Tee Martin - 163rd - 0 starts
5: Marc Bulger - 168th - 95 starts
6: Spergon Wynn - 183rd - 3 starts

If the OL can pass block like they did against the Bills, it might add a year or 2 more onto his playing career. Saves alot of wear and tear on the body when you can stay upright.

I will never gamble on an unknown commodity. If Brady is still at 75 - 80% of what he is today you will still be able to win a championship with him.

Jimmy G. is an unknown. We have seen him have a couple of decent Pre Season performances. Who the hell knows what he will be like in a 16 game season.

I will want Brady at center until he is truly done. If that means we have a to suffer through a losing season then so be it. Brady has earned that right with me.

( I originally red X'd your post but have taken it back. I know you are a die hard Pats fan.)

Chad Pennington was a very good if not top 5 QB until his shoulder got hurt. Not sure where the Jets would have been with Chad at QB but it would have been interesting.

I believe he can play as long as favre did and at a high level. I just want him to walk away when he thinks he isn't capable on the field, instead of being subpar. Once the arm strength starts going, accuracy will drop off quickly.

I was watching the Blue Jays play the Yankees earlier and this post made me wonder if Belichick would ever use Brady like the Closer in baseball. Bring Brady in the 4th quarter to win the game. As he grows older he may not have the legs and arm to play all 19 games but he would make one heck of a QB to bring off the bench. I doubt it would ever happen but it made me smile just thinking the heads that would explode if Brady came off the bench to win another SB.

You really think after another couple of seasons working with him JG will be an unknown to the people who matter, the coaches?
