Here's another minor bit of feedback -- is there any way to allow us to hide the "Stickies" block? It seldom ever changes so I'm almost always scrolling down a ways just to get to the actual ongoing posts.

Better yet, would it be possible to let us arrange the relative positions of "Stickies", "Normal Threads", and the list of the other forums? So you could have Stickies first, I could have Normal Threads first, and someone else could have Other Forums first
There's not, but I'm going to be condensing and archiving some of the stickies, so you'll see that reduced down in the next week or so. That's been on my to-do list for a while, among a few other things.

Agreed!

The only gripe I could possibly have is when viewing the site via iPhone, you have to scroll through a lot of stuff before getting to the actual posts. You have to scroll through a good 6-7 full 'pages' of logos, advertisements, sub-forums, and sticky's before ever reaching the posts.

It's annoying but I'll live :)
Just favorite the forum main page and bypass the other stuff.

Wait, andyjohnson used to be a moderator?

This place must have been the wild west! o_O

This is a very well run forum Ian. I have to say one of the best and that is not just comparing to sports forums, but also technology who you would expect to lead the way and they fail.

I have followed the Pats since 1960 through their ups and downs, but have enjoyed the experience even more since I have discovered these forums.

This forum is great. Great layout, great mods, great posters, great notification. The only not great thing is the gameday thread whem we're behind. LOL.

finish reading page 72. Refresh.....the forum is up to page 87.....finish reading page 87....refresh.....forum is on page 103......go to the bathroom, get a beer.......refresh ......forum is on page .......217. :D

On a side note: A few months ago I read through the Super Bowl thread which I was not apart of. You could "feel" the positive and negative energy from those posts. Funnier was how some people went straight into the tank when they were down 14 in the 4th. :D

Yes, yes, and yes.
I do not understand the logic that requires visitors to ....

1) scroll past the block of "other" forums
2) scroll past the Twitter musings
3) scroll past the block of "sticky" threads

...in order to arrive at the "normal threads" destination......the destination that should be immediately be available. I have to scroll down half the page past all the unnecessary filler that causes aggravation every time I visit the site. I could understand the "tactic" if there were advertisements that you wanted to make sure your readers had contact with. I don't understand why "sticky threads" deserve premium space. Personally, I haven't glanced inside this block in years.
JMHO

Side by side. Normal threads on the left. Stickies on the right. Just a thought.

That was truly a special thread. It's a great read (....he wrote in a self-serving manner.:D )

Slightly OT: I occasionally browse through the advertisements and twitter feeds to give them some clicks. I assume it adds to the forums revenue etc.....

Just a thought for those who see it as a frustration.

BTW, I love that "Edelman to Defense" thread........especially Posts #12, #17 and #29! :D

.

THAT ...IS ....TOO...... FUNNY. :D ( I only type in all caps after 3 glasses of wine)

BTW this is not a jab at anyone. It just goes to show you how difficult it is to see a diamond in the rough. I never would have thought that JE11 would have become the player he is today. I am thankful he has.

#12
Edelman will be lucky to have any job with the Patriots at all, IMO. The ST only positions look as if they've been dealt with already, so it looks as if Edelman will have to beat out about a lot of WRs for the last spot on the WR depth chart.

Great. Set the roster and find that place for him.

He's a better tackler than he is a receiver, I'll give him that much. The ONLY thing he has going for him is that he is barely adequate at multiple positions. He is not nor will he ever be capable of one half of what Welker can do as a WR. He is NOT a Welker replacement. Not even close.

If the Patriots were a mechanics tool chest, Edleman would be the equivalent of the duct tape in the back corner in the bottom drawer.
