Wendell Still Among The Missing

I don't know everyone's contract situations for next season, but imagine if Wendell returns, and Tyler Gaffney somehow makes the 53 in 2016-17...How historic would this lineup be?

When's the last time something like this has happened?

I feel like we are officially pushing our luck with the three rookie linemen. Hope this isn't a long term situation with Wendy.

After only two games, it seems that our future looks pretty good in the interior of the OL. We have Stork, Andrews, Jackson and Mason all signed through 2018 (week, Andrews is actually an RFA in 2018).
Kline is an RFA in 2016. Wendell is a UFA in 2016.

We have six interior linemen that we can count on. We usually only carry five. Of course, I expect to keep all six through the end of the season.

I would think that extending Kline would be a good idea.

Except it's basically two. It's been Mason or Jackson, Andrews and Kline

Offensive line was a position of serious concern at the beginning of the season. Even though its only been 2 games, the O line so far looks solid - especially in pass protection.

How quickly missing the entire interior offensive line from last year is not an issue.
A week after the Buffalo game and the only guy missing at practice is Wendell? I'll take it.

What kind of illness does Wendell have? Not too many that can sideline you for several weeks

Geez, this is getting ominous.

It's been quite some time now with an "illness" and the Patriots have a large medical team.

Forget about football games, I hope Ryan's ok.

Who knows but I feel like Two weeks with an illness is unusual.

I edited my post, but concern is there about something that is not football related. We didn't find out about Matt Light's situation until after he retired, nor about Nate Solder's until after the Super Bowl.

Whatever it is with Ryan Wendell, I fervently am hoping he gets better.

When I read this I actually thought about Lights situation too. don't recall soldier missing games due to illness but he very we'll may have before his news came out.

Solder's situation was diagnosed during OTAs in the springtime I believe and he was just ok to go by the start of the season.

Look, the good news is I think Reiss or Howe had tweeted last Thursday that they indeed saw Wendell in the lockerroom in a t-shirt at his stall. He just wasn't taking questions or at the practice portion.

When I was re-watching the game on NFL Gamepass when they showed the pictures of the offensive lineman I was shocked to see Wendell listed as the starting Right Guard, I thought "What!". I hurriedly checked the snap count to verify that he hadn't played. Anyone else notice that error? It seems strange that the network broadcast would list a player in the starting lineup when they aren't active.

Fact checking ain't what is used to be.

Wendell's situation seems unusual and my imagination is active, but there are too many possibilities (not concerning to very concerning) to contemplate and insufficient data. My guess is that he does not play this week and over the next couple of weeks we will see if he returns to practice. If not, then we can worry in earnest.

Not sure I agree with that and not sure what % Wendell would be at regardless. But we'll definitely be pushing Luck on October 18th...oh yeah.

Yes I noticed that.

Also, another mistake that made me surprised, it was in the pre season game against New Orleans, the ESPN scoreboard was crediting someone else's rushing yards to Gaffney, and he was cut days before and IR'd, I was like, wtf, did they brought him back from IR? I was travelling so I couldn't watch the game, I was following the live score.
