Brady is snubbed. Roethlisberger named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

It would be great if he is snubbed for everything this year so his fire would burn deeper, but like some have said, in the end if he holds up the trophy they can't take that away from him.

Who cares?

And that's just it Kontra. The award doesn’t really matter. So the NFL's refusal to cough up a measly award makes it all the more amusing. Curran put it best,

"The NFL easily spent more than $10M trying to keep Brady off the field until Columbus Day, their legal team got battered, the national reputations of league officials couldn’t be lower, owners, coaches and GMs from teams that ran to the league for relief from the Patriots or patted Goodell on the back for a job well-done on “the Brady thing” are in turmoil.

They can’t control that. The league can control who gets the Player of the Week Award, though. And it won’t be Tom Brady, d%#*!@t!"

Good. But, as a fan, it's hard for me to muster up much care about this. I expect to see it happen to Brady and other Patriots a lot over the course of the season.

That's the point.

Ben Roethlisberger: 21-27, 369 yards, 3 TD vs. 49ers
Tom Brady: 38-59, 466 yards, 3 TD vs. Bills

Brady passed for more yardage against the Bills than any other quarterback has done in the 56-year history of that franchise.

During that game, he became the first player in NFL history to have the following combination in the same game: 450 or more passing yards, three passing touchdowns, no interceptions and 55 or more passing attempts.

He was going up against the highest paid front 4 in the NFL (those players are worth quarter billion dollars) and went surgical on a Top 5 defense in the League. And whereas Ben was playing at a home game, Brady and Pats were trying to withstand a notoriously hostile (and loud) crowd.

We have a head to head win over Rapist-Burger which is all that matters in the end.

Ben wasn't a bad pick by any means but Brady certainly played a tougher opponent in a hostile environment. Plus Brady had to beat cheaters

We all know the most important award this week is the Colts' new "MNF Finalist" banner anyway. All this other stuff is just small potatoes.

And, as we all know, you can't spell "finalist" without FAIL. :p

Found this on reddit. . . .

Stupid move by the NFL, but this is the F U Season so i'm happy about this

Im sure it was just the NFL spreading the award around. They are probably worried at the way Brady is playing he may win it 8 times this season.

Kind of reminds me of the photo of the elite QBs where Brady was left off. I seriously wouldn't count out the NFLs hand in the award this week.

Forgive my ignorance...WHO does the voting/nominating/selecting for these weekly awards?

Ben's stat line is more impressive (due to efficiency)
Tom's opponent/venue is more impressive

Can't really argue with either guy winning

One thing I don't understand about efficiency. If you have a running offense, that improves your efficiency. But it's much harder to throw when you don't have a running offense. TRANSLATION: when a QB has a lower passing % on a high volume of passes, and succeeds, that's a lot more impressive than having a higher complete % in a balanced offense.

I think the measure of effectiveness should be YPA. That's what I always look at anyway.

I think Big Ben gets the award as he is the only QB in 2015 to take a patriots beating and manage to win after it. The Ravens, Colts and Seahawks are all 0-2 since seeing the patriots in 2015.

Also if they gave him the award they kind of concede that deflated footballs never gave Tom a competitive advantage. Have you all noticed how not one mediot has mentioned what Tom has done with properly inflated balls? If this goes on any longer then we don't even need psi recordings.

Not gonna argue with that. But the passing attack against Buffalo was far more prolific. Pittsburgh threw only 27 passes against 25 runs, for a Pass Ratio of 51.9%. Whereas New England passed on 61 of 71 plays (an astonishing 86% pass rate) and threw on 80% of all dropbacks! That's insane

Didn't Brady win it last week? I am guessing they weren't going to give it to him two weeks in a row.
