On fourth down you worry about getting the first down. Worry about taking the top off the defense with low-percentage throws some other time, when an incomplete doesn't turn the ball over at midfield.

Honestly your two best receivers are open on a playcall and you are criticizing your coordinator.

Open for low percentage throws that Brady routinely misses when we couldn't afford an incomplete, resulting in the Bills being let back into the game, you mean.

Rex was hesitant to blitz because McDaniels spread it out and he does that because Brady is smart enough to reposition players to pick up additional rushers ( like he did with Edelman). Today's was an almost perfect game plan and would have been a blowout if it wasn't for the drops.

Except Rex did overload and/or blitz in the second half...and really caused some bad plays; including that strip sack in the 4th Q. That's on McDaniels.

Also, Brady being forced to call players into motion was a huge reason why, in the first half, there was such constant confusion between Brady and the wideouts. We saw it time and time again, Brady was trying to call signals and there was a miscommunication; it lead to wasted timeouts, which is rare coming from Brady. That's all on McDaniels.

McDaniels has been an unappreciated beast in terms of play calling. They scored 3 passing TDs off 4 TE formations last week! Defenses are always on the back foot defending our offense.
Like I siad in my opening post; if not bashing McDaniels as an OC; just his tendencies of using the spread against Rex Ryan Defenses.

While I would have loved to see Brady get his 4th TD and more points, having a close game can have its advantages. There won't be any revenge because they were embarrassed (and all teams have motivation to win, they just didn't hand any to Rex/Bills for the next game).

Caused the Bills to show more of their hand for the type of plays they run in those need to score situations. so this will help them (and other teams) prepare for them down the road.

BB's always thinking ahead and while he can't be happy with the number of points he gave up in the 4th quarter, he's happy in that way you don't want coach to be happy (if you are a player). Makes for great learning opportunities.

The first play was wide open for a touchdown. Brady made a bad pass. The object of the game is to score touchdowns if they're giving it to you. Play call was good, execution wasn't.

Who's to say, if they got a yard, they would have scored a TD?

McDaniels isn't inherently bad or anything so extreme...

I've just always hated how he so often calls for Shotgun-Empty formations against Rex Ryan's Defenses. He did it way, way, way too often today. Even before the fumble. You've got two Tight ends that you can use to chip before their routes. Why spread them out and take away their blocking potential? The empty sets were why Brady had so much trouble getting the play off before the clock. It why there were so many ugly passes under duress. The sack-fumble was just waiting to happen.

Really, McD got away with it in the 1st half because Rex was hesitant to overload and blitz.

You can't be serious.

The offense scored 40 points, Dikembe. Maybe you should direct your complaints at the defense.

Wish they would of ran more when they were up.

Except sometimes but probably not today.

This is one of the best and most creative offenses in the NFL and people still disrespect Josh McDaniels. Oh dear.
Josh is very good. Great even. But, who needs creativity on fourth down at midfield late in the second half with a three score lead? No need to show off your brilliance in that situation. Just punt the frigging ball.

That's Belichick's call, not McDaniels.

They tried to bills to respect EDELMAN
