Romo hurt

Please. Romo hasn't a single season with a qb rating less than 90. The past two years, it averages 105. Cutler has NEVER had a seaon where he even made it to 90.

Stats are for losers. QB rating is slanted, as modern QBs benefit from rules in their favour. What has Romo accomplished ? Go.

He's accomplished a metric **** ton more than Cutler.

Neither has won, both are losers. Both have been, in big games, the reason their team has been on the losing end. Romo is just likeable, while Cutler is a douche.

He's had an owner drafting like he was building a fantasy football team (grab speed receivers with no line to let them get open - the offensive line last year was a recent development), and a complete lack of defense. Those 'stats' often kept the Boys in games that should have been blowouts.

It is a team sport. Nobody - not even Brady - can win regularly without a supporting cast. Brady can do more with less (e.g. 2006 and the cast off receivers), but BB generally has a well-built team around him. The Boys cannot say the same.

And no, Romo is not Brady. He is a decent QB.

Romo isn't Brady, but he's a good QB. He's certainly in the upper part of the tier of guys who are a step down from Rodgers, Brady et al. He's gotten to the playoffs 4 times. His statline from his last game in the playoffs? 34-50, 68pct, 484 yds, 4 TDs and 0 ints. I don't think that exactly qualifies as failing in a big game.

Cutler got to the playoffs once 5 years ago and ended up begging out of the game.

I can't believe anyone could seriously put these two guys on the same plane.

Awwww Jerry, you thought it would be such a great thing with a Brady-less Patriots squad going into Dallas. I still remember you waving those pom poms in the name or Roger's crusade to frame an innocent man. I just hope the Patriots were also following your very public cheering as well, and I'm guessing they were.

Tony Romo versus Jimmy Garoppolo becomes Brandon Weeden versus Tom Brady. How do them apples taste?

That undefeated season took 10 years off my life. I don't know if I wanna do that again. Lol. I just want them to win SB 50.

I'm on the opposite side of that fence. As gut wrenching as the eventual loss to the Giants was in 2007, I'd do it all again if it gave them another shot at 19-0. That was one of the best rides that any team I root for has ever taken me on. Hopefully, this time it wouldn't come down to a fiery crash at the end.

And how great would it be to pull it off after Indy (the dopes who cried the loudest last year) had a shot at it in 2009 and tanked games at the end instead, and then had the audacity to bring the Pats failure up as an excuse. I won't soon forget the look on the faces of the Indy players that year. They knew they had a real shot at it. I almost felt bad for P6 too.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's longer. Romo had the same injury in 2010, in Week 7, and didn't come back that season. And now he's 35, so it could be a long haul.

It could cost him his last shot at a SB. But I guess that's the risk if you try to scramble out of sacks instead of throwing the ball away.

Sweet irony. This was a game the Dallas fans at work invited me to attend (I had no real desire to pay for bad seats in the house that Jerry built), and all the discussion was a missing Brady. Talk about reversal of fortunes.

Romo is not Brady

Having said that, the Cows would average 3-4 more losses without him each season.

In other words, Romo has kept Jerry Jones the GM from looking as bad

So there is a lot of this.... if the goal is to be decent, better than others, etc - great. Who cares about that ? There is winning and there is F-all. If you are not winning championships, you are not reaching the goal. I'm glad BB plays to win. Everything else is losing.

Don't think we disagree that much. I could have seen the Seahawks win their SB with Romo, who like Wilson is good, but not the best. Part of Romo's problem is the dysfunction in Dallas for much of his career.

Exactly, I hope the Pats put 60 in the scoreboard against them.

I bet Jerry never thought that his starting QB would be the one not playing in the Patriots-Cowboys game...

What he thinks is highly influenced by this liquid

I'm sorry to see Romo go down. I always enjoy the matchup between the two Bledsoe backups.

The whining at CowboysZone
  • No Dez
  • No Romo
  • No Hardy
  • Witten hurting

I'd rather win facing all of them 100%, but after they were pining to play without Brady, I enjoy their pain
