Well, of course everyone wants the Patriots to lose today when you think about it -- probably including the Jets and Dolphins as well. But Wrecks quoting another team's player as telling him to beat New England is about as silly and undignified as it can get for a head coach. I wonder how long before Wrecks' carnival barker act wears thin in Buffalo as it did in New Jersey.

And exactly who is this anonymous Colts player? Of course Wrecks ain't tellin', assuming it really happened. One thing for certain: the Patriots will not lack for bulletin board material this season.

Don't think Rex's act will wear thin in Buffalo anytime soon. He gives them a reason to wake up in the morning.
Give it time. He's employing exactly the same mouthy act he did in Jersey.

Definition: Fetish - a course of action to which one has an excessive and irrational commitment.

I think Rex will have a home in Buffalo for a long time.

Some people have a fetish for feet and some for second place football.

Man, how obnoxious will he be if they win? How obnoxious will that first team that beats NE be this season, even if it isn't Buffalo? I guess we'll wait and see.

What did the Colt players say? "Hey Rex, kick the Patriots arses because we can't even lose without embarrassing ourselves against them."

Colts players want someone to beat the Patriots because they can't do it themselves.

Good. I like BB having the "us against the world" mentality (to use as motivation).

I look forward to hearing Rodney Harrison's playoff game speech to the players. :D

If Rex wins, he will become a Demi-God and will be worshipped by all Buffalo residents. He will become legend and his incredible tale of defeating the evil Patriots will be told across the land (or just the town) for centuries.

That's only because nothing else significant ever happened in Buffalo, ever.

I thought that was already understood, didn't feel the need to state it in my post

For games like this where everyone gets all excited, his schtick works.

Where it will always fail is games after that...they don't get the hype, and his team plays badly. It's sort of amazing that Rex doesn't see that and try to change. Tigers don't change stripes, but they do learn a little, don't they?

10 years from now - on a Sunday Rex waiting for kickoff repeating:
Belichick - Belichick - Belichick - Belichick

Bills play Miami in Miami next week. Take the Dolphins because this is Buffalo's Super Bowl and they will be spent.....until the next time they play the Pats later this season.
And as to the Colts player alleged quote, shouldn't they worry about winning their own games first??????

Colts players want someone to beat the Patriots because they can't do it themselves.

Opposing players want other teams to beat the Pats ON the field by outscoring the Pats, while the opposing owners want Goodell to beat the Pats OFF the field by confiscating their draft picks.

Yup. He'll have some success in the beginning and then drive them into the ground.

More to the point, he's building them up (as far as hype, energy, excitement) to the point where they're guaranteed to have a letdown next week or down the road, whether or not they win today. It's a 16 game season and the reason why the Patriots excel so well in finishing the season is that they're on an even keel from start to end and don't get too caught up in any one game.

And as if it couldn't get any sillier today, the Bills are going to honor Bill Polian at halftime.
