Why Tyrod Taylor is Turning Heads (ESPN)

That's true. I have a theory about an intelligence cap when it comes to a lot of athletics. Einstein had a quote along the lines of smart people control their mind, geniuses are controlled by theirs. I think that's very true and applies a lot to sports. Really high level minds think too much. They're processing far too many variables when in reality a lot of it is just see it and execute. I think you have to be fairly smart to be a really good QB in that you need to process things quickly, but if too much is going on upstairs it can force poor decisions. It's why a guy like Manny Ramirez who I'm fairly certain had a single digit IQ, was such a tremendous hitter. See ball, hit ball. No overthinking. No understanding of the moment, the situation, the pressure, the crowd, his diet, his problems in life, the issues he's solving, nope, just the ball.

I think there is something very deep here, that applies way beyond sports...It explains why I sucked at so many things in my life: I'm too much of a genius, I was overthinking things! :D

Will be interesting to see how he fares against a good coach.

I
Sorry, but Taylor isn't even mediocre. Accurate? Yeah right....take a look at his film at Virginia Tech and then try to tell me that. Anyone can be accurate when all their throws are 5 yard passes. There is a reason he is in his fifth year in the NFL and just now getting his first start.

When teams were looking at him 5 years ago, they didn't even consider him a QB. He was being looked at as a WR. He isn't going to beat many people with his arm, but is dangerous with his legs. He is a bad version of Kapernick, without the strong arm and open field explosiveness.

Don't think we know what Taylor is or is not at this point, and it will likely take at least a season to have a real idea. I expect Belichick will treat him like Kaepernick or RGIII. Should be interesting.

Get to know the QB you face Sunday, and probably for many more years...

He's fast, he's smart, he's accurate and very athletic. He just has not started much as a PRO.

I doubt this will be a pleasant place for opposing fans to come to anytime soon. Patriot fans are sick of all the lies, all the bullsh.t, and all of the crying. One good thing about Rex is that he isn't a crybaby and doesn't make a lot of excuses, hopefully Bills fans will follow that In the future but so far they haven't.

Hmmm, let ponder that for a while.

I don't see the issue with the article. It's a football conversation, which I thought everyone wanted around here.

I don't think the first game showed us very much about what he will be, but if you aren't taking him seriously because he was stuck behind Flacco, that's at your own mental peril.

Let's not forget, he doesn't have to be Randall Cunningham or Russell Wilson to make the Bills a dangerous team. It's already dangerous, they are just hoping he doesn't drive their season off a cliff. Until he does, he is one of the most interesting storylines in this very young football season.

Also, that's an article by Rodak, who was(is?) a poster here, not some espn ball washer.

I hope he has a nice career ... love the players overlooked stories ... so I'm not going to hate on him.

I just he doesn't have it at our expense. He seems to have enough ability to at least be a #2.

As far as the hype ... let's see how he does when game plans are engaged to slow him down.

This is not the Bills message board, keep your propaganda filth to yourself.

So posting an article about the QB you will face and adding my two cents isn't what you guys want around here? I guess you prefer debate amongst people who simple agree with you about how the Bills suck and the Pats are great? I'm not flaming your team or even trolling. Damn man.

Tyrod Taylor is snake oil and BSPN is just the latest network to try and sell us on this one game wonder.

Bills fans are almost unbelievably optimistic only to get their misplaced hopes crushed year after year.

The NFL's Sisyphus.

No reason to get snarky man. Just sharing information and to be fair, you all have not had a to face a real QB in Buffalo forever. The list is very non-impressive.

They've faced real QBs in much bigger situations than in a dumb division game.

One start. One friggin start against the Colts and he's Tom Brady. Riiiiight.

I think someone Ctrl-F'd "Kaepernick" in an article from 2 years ago, and replaced it with "Taylor".

I think the Bills and their fans would be happy if Taylor turned into Kaepernick. That's pretty much the ceiling for super-athletic one-read QBs, and if Taylor plays at a 2012-Kaepernick level they'll be a pretty dangerous team. I don't think he'll be that though, at least not right away.

Your two cents are irrational. We're one game into the season and you're ready to send Tyrod Taylor to Canton. These are the types of pieces you share with fans of your team, not with fans of the team you're about to play.

I'm more than happy to talk about established, perenially good players on the Bills.
