Sorry. why can't he take them to court now? Anytime he wants to try to eliminate the anti trust exemption or the salary cap, he can take the league to court. what am I missing?

Relevant section re: legal action to get picks/fine back from Michael McCann. My emphasis not his.

“Robert Kraft would face an improbable legal fight since he accepted the punishment,” McCann continued. “But he could argue acceptance is void if he was misled.”

There is much more out there discussing the the obstacles of declining the appeal process and then trying to litigate. If I get some time I will try to get more for you.

I think it sucks that players and coaches who have absolutely busted their asses to become great and become champions are being demeaned and dragged through the mud continually, they deserve better. Personally I just don't talk football with anyone who tries to go down that road but I would like to see Kraft either fight back through words and actions or pass the team over to Jonathan, who I believe wants to be far more aggressive in response. The fact that teams are routinely violating league bylaws by making unfounded accusations against the Patriots with absolutely no response from the league office, as well as the appeal in the Brady case demonstrates that they are still out to get them, and at this point the Patriots should be doing more than just taking it.

from an emotional standpoint it does suck, but that's just noise and almost all of it coming out now is more stupid than it has ever been......as time goes on, the understanding has improved and rational people and their opinions have changed a great deal.......

from a practical standpoint, the pats will do what they do...Kraft shouldn't do anything but allow the agenda to hang itself now......which it is doing

this is always a card that can be played......it's amazing how close the NFL has come to saying 'we have a right to punish people even if the infraction is a lie' and the longer the league insists on following this premise the more work they are doing for Bob Kraft to make his own case.....the more drums keep banging, the more the league implicates itself as nothing more than a Vince McMahon wannabee.....as time goes on, this will only succeed in stuff being brought up on any other team by any other team......this kind of things stands to grow 32 different heads

He made his point about his mistake and apologized......he doesn't need to say anything else.....especially during a time when the process is not technically involving him.

Is it that unbelieveable that Kraft knew that appealing Goodell's decision to Goodell would go nowhere and that giving in might by some leniency for Brady?

The idea that he gave in because he wanted to make everyone like him makes no sense given his livid response to the initial Brady decision. If he cared more about his owner pals than anything else he wouldn't have gone on live TV and said that trusting the NFL was the wrong choice...

I don't think he gave in because he wants everyone to like him. I think he gave in because his role as the owner of the Patriots came into conflict with his role as 1/32nd owner of the NFL. He was momentarily caught on both sides of the conflict, and had to pick a side. He picked the other side.

I agree that it isn't about lack of intelligence, or a desperate need to be liked, or anything like that. It's about what he values more, and he made it very clear which role he values more.

.
Would that imply that there was an agreement between Kraft and Goodell, a quid pro quo????? If Kraft ever came out and said as much, that could hasten Goodell's downfall.

Maybe if NashuaPat had a billionaire father-in-law who bequeathed to him a major privately-held corporation, he would be a good businessman too.

you're saying Kraft inherited a billion dollar corporation?

Unless he suits up, he really can't take the players side.

His first job was at his father-in-law's billion dollar corporation, which he was effectively bequeathed. He used capital from that to found his paper company, which he merged with the company he was already running.

It's not exactly an up-by-your-bootstraps story.

Give Kraft credit for being a great businessman in his own right but it never hurts to marry the boss's daughter.

.....and the Patriots were the #3 most valuable sport franchise on planet earth in 1994 when he bought them.........

Seriously, some folks should just make their own dreams come true and go wash Shaughnessy's feet.

His father in law was worth a billion dollars?

the only credit worth handing out here is to your pettiness

Sorry to say there is nothing that can help a person who doesn't know when he is fooled and abused and the people like yourself who still believe he can do no wrong.

Sorry to say there is nothing like an old fool and the people like yourself who follow him.

You shoud take credit for the amusement that your illogicial statements concerning Kraft provide the people on this site. I can only imagine how pathetic it must be to be unable to grasp your idol has feet of clay up to his eyebrows. Continue to believe what you want, your fantasies have no effect on the reality of the situation or myself.

LOL @ the noise of feeble pettiness

His father in law was worth a billion dollars?

If not a billion, then certainly close to it in inflation-adjusted dollars. Jacob Hiatt had quite a great deal of money.

Kraft deserves credit for his deals in order to secure the Patriots, but owning an NFL team has become, coincidentally, a foolproof cash cow.

Enough of the ridiculous insults back and forth. We have diametrically opposite opinions of Kraft and what is the effect of his actions on the present and future of the team. Consequently what youi think of me and my position does not matter to me and vice versa.
