Texans trade wide receiver Keshawn Martin to New England

They traded him because he kept saying "throw me the damn ball"

It makes sense that they'd try to keep Edelmen from getting injured. But he's one of the best kick returners in the history of the game. I don't see why you wouldn't want to use him.

Speed. 4.32 at the combine in 2012.

Quick, elusive and better than average p and K returner. Had a decent role pre-Obrien, not after though. change of scenery.

also, Reiss says very versatile, from slot to deep receiver.

This doesn't bode well for Dobson, whom I was higher than most this season.

Or not, since I have no idea who that is. Still, if he's able to bring something to this team, i Welcome him
This has absolutely nothing to do with Dobson. This is depth and a kick returner, nothing more.

Because Martin played for Houston and now doesn't play for Houston. That makes him instantly great. Just ask Denver who had Trindon Holliday blow up and Baltimore who had Jacoby Jones do the same thing. It's bulletproof!!!

99% of the websites say he ran a 4.45 at the combine. ONE site said 4.42. Not that 4.45 or 4.42 is slow, still damned fast. But he didn't run 4.32. He did have a 39.5 vertical (me likey) and a 12.2 long jump, so obviously he's explosive. Great combine numbers have not translated to great production on the field yet. Let's see if he amounts to anything other than a return man. I think BB's intention is to have zero draft picks in 2016 as a big FU to the league lol.

If I'm going to read into this, I'd say it's more likely that the team decided that Dion Lewis is too integral to the 2015 offense to be exposed to injury as the primary kick returner.

So we grabbed a 5-11 180 lb WR. Really? We need a 7-1 235 lber who runs a 4.15 40 with 12-inch hands and can hit a 64-inch vert and a sub-6 3 cone with a 200 lb sack of rocks strapped to his back.

Why are we screwing around with these little guys? Doesn't anyone realize we can't win anything without filling our roster with tall WR's?

We don't need big guys in the trenches. We don't need LB's or secondary or RB's or coaches. We need tall WR's. We'll never win anything without them.

Good stuff ! I'd be happy if Martin is half as good as Deion Branch. Earn Brady's trust, and have him run some bubble screens as the 4th receiver. Also have him doing most of the punt returning. He was really good in college as a punt returner. Helps keep Edelman and Amendola healthy.

If they are going to make this move, then why didn't they just draft Tyler ****adoodie Lockett instead of Jordan ****adoodie Richards?????!!!!!

Good point about JE and DA. We need a scrappy return guy so those 2 remain factors in the passing game. I actually was advocating for that in this last draft. Not so much a WR, but a return guy. I really liked Tyler Lockett out of KSU, but Sea took him at #69 or something. If this kid can become a factor in the return game I'll veiw this trade as a win.
