Dareus is showing off his quality Alabama edumacation, I see.

Ironically, those who mock (e.g. Dareus) the 7 Liberal Arts have no problem(s) in taking part of its fruits. Yeah, the 7 work in concert. It is not up to anyone to say that "this one (e.g. grammar) should be removed."

I'm 100% guilt-free my brotha....but hang on to that guilt if that's what floats your boat. No one's ever going to coddle college football players or any college student for that matter.

Interesting topic for discussion.

Isn't the kid being coddled by the college as well as being harmed by that?

I remember way back in my day it was the teachers who challenged you that helped the most, and the ones who were letting you slide were actually hurting you. Was that my parents fault or mine?

You were an adult and it was up to you to figure that out for yourself....seems like you did a fine job too. But honestly, I never had a professor that let things slide.

That same scenario exists in the corporate world as well...but we're all big boys and girls now.

I think the corporate world is much different than college. In corporate America you have to produce.

I have two children who went through the college process and that is fair for the students. What isn't fair to anyone is loading a kid up with useless classes so he can stay on the football field and make more money for the school, especially when he comes out nearly illiterate.

Surely the school is at fault there. That kid isn't about to give back a 250K "education" and a chance at some pro sport because he thinks the courses are too easy. He's going to do what he's told by the school.

Don't nobody like double negatives.
