ESPN Staffers Threatened Over Deflategate

In my world the actions of ESPN, King and his cronies, and the NFL are actually " just defamation," not "just football."
And there was nothing " just" about anything the NFL did throughout the entire process.

They spend 8 months doing their best to feed the narrative and get everyone pissed off then act all shocked when people are pissed off. These people really think they can just write whatever they want and no one can call them on it or hold them accountable.

Don't spread lies, don't get threats. Simple concept really.
Not saying that you are saying this.

I wouldn't put Morts original release of the 11 of 12 as a lie. But, He and THEY (BSPN management) had to know how damaging it is. Any details leaked like that, that can't be corroborated from multiple & different sources should be under the stipulation that their name will be released if it comes out to be false.

Especially when you are going after someones reputation and career. it might be easy to say that Brady has plenty of money and 2 million of his let's say 12 million leaves him plenty, but that shouldn't be their decision to make.

I highlight different in the sense that the NFL office can be different people but a single source (unless they verify that they are a 1st hand witness). It's far to easy to use these unnamed resources to put a "hit" piece out on someone. If that's going to happen, people need to be responsible enough to put their name to it and allow it to be published. People should have freedom of speech, but not freedom to misrepresent information and cause nationwide outrage against individuals.

When we worship money and notoriety before good character, we all suffer. Funny how TB is being called out and represented as terrible person, but in reality, it seems he's been the only one who's shown strong moral fiber and character through this process.

Good. These so-called "journalists" have made this offseason miserable for Brady and the fans. There should be consequences for this kind of false, harmful reporting.

Coincidentally, I just listened to parts of a couple of old ESPN broadcasts w/ Mark Schlereth. I didn't hear anything wrong with what he was saying. E.g., as an old OL, he thinks crowd noise violations are much bigger than ball violations. On ball violations he properly called out the Vikings as being more egregious than anything the Patriots supposedly did. Etc.

I can forgive any errors I did hear him make. E.g., I think he was very impressed by the phrase "... own brand of industrial justice" without knowing it came from earlier court cases. More seriously, he seemed to be suggesting Brady did something or other to footballs. But then -- if we take BB's January presser literally, the Patriots prepare footballs in a way that does have an effect on pressure, and whether or not the rulebook cleanly prohibits that, I wouldn't have objected to a small knuckle rap -- i.e. fine only -- for the result.
