Patriots listed as one point favorite at Buffalo for NFL week 2

John Morgan

Within hours the betting line has dropped, with this game now listed as a pick'em in many venues. Also, links to several early views on Sunday's game against the Bills - local, national, and from western New York.

Idk why people are so worried about the bills lol, same sh*t when we were getting close to facing seattle and this is buffalo we are talking about, we have bigger and better teams to worry about this season.

If we wait long enough, we might get the Patriots and points. That doesn't happen too often.

Sounds about right! But as a fan it's hard to judge what the odds should be--esp this early in the season.

Blount back gives us one more go-to guy.

Well i don't mind the Pats being a 1 point favorite or just in a pick em

#1 Bills are home
#2 This is their SB and their fans will sound like it
#3 The Pats tend to drop 1 or 2 games early they shouldn't
#4 Their first opponent prepared them more for us than ours did for them (Colts more like us than Pitt is like Buffalo)

So honestly i do kinda expect the Patriots to drop this game (though i think they should win as well... if that makes sense)

If they do not then the Patriots will start 3-0 (cause let face it... no way they lose to the Jags) going into the Bye.

I know it sounds counter intuitive but i almost want them to lose this one cause if they don't i see them having 2-3 meaningless games going into their first round bye. That can sometimes hurt you.

5-0. Dallas is the biggest lock on the schedule this year outside of Indianapolis.

Locks.

If the Patriots go 3-13 this year, those are the other two wins.

When we all make our normal season record predictions, I normally hover around 12-4.

Those 4 loses include (sometimes they overlap):

--a "WTF" game that we weren't expecting

--a loss on the road

--a divisional loss

--a loss to a good team

Going by this formula, we could put @DAL and @IND into at least 2 of these categories, possibly 3.

Yes, we "should" win, but I need to see more of the 2015 secondary before I feel confident enough to consider them both easy games.

Can't wait to see Jerry Jones crying in his luxury box when the Patriots are up 48-10

More than that, five or so raving Hatriots at CowboysZone getting brain trauma from banging their heads on the wall. 40yrPatsFan knows one of them - you can't rule out he might be like a few of the nuts on the news that acts on his rage at the game.

These losers were WISHING not to play Brady and now they don't have Dez :D:D I'd rather they have a full roster, so their post-game rants would be as lame as can be. Speaking of karma, one of these self-rightous Hatriots is wishing Brady go out with an injury....he is OCD on deflated balls, OK with BountyGate, OK with domestic violence suspects like Hardy, Peterson....a real paragon of moral virtue.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sounds about right

I think the main causes for concern are their strengths (defensive line, WRs) vs. our weaknesses (interior offensive line, DBs), it's very early in the season, and it's in Buffalo. Losing a close one to the Bills would not surprise me at all.

Agreed. Gun to my head to pick this game, I'd give the point and take the Pats. No gun to my head, I'm not betting on this game

Rex Ryan's bluster and "confidence", may have influenced the Las Vegas Line..

Confident after the Buffalo Bills' convincing win Sunday over the Indianapolis Colts, coach Rex Ryan turned his focus Monday to the Bills’ next opponent, the New England Patriots, saying his staff has long been preparing for the game.

“Shoot, I’ll go home early [this week],” Ryan said. “I’m ain’t [not] gonna be ready. That plan’s been ready for a long time.”

Agreed, particularly with respect to the match up of our interior OL to their DL, I expect our OL to be brought back to earth a bit (three rookies, one a free agent!). Plus it is their Superbowl (both for Rex and the Bills), while NE has got used to checking he Bills as an automatic "W". There is little tape on their starting quarterback to analyze for weakness, and his confidence ought to be good after last week.

If you take the same two teams (assuming no injuries, which of course won't happen) and compare them late in the season, that would be a different matter, I would expect the Patriots to clearly take care of business then.

But this upcoming game...it worries me.

Plus, think of all of those NY bettors who haven't had a good Bills team to bet on for a long time, that could be why the line is decreasing.

Bettor don't put down their money on Buffalo because of Ryan's bluster. The line is a reflection of how people are betting and how they are expected to bet.

You think that there is a lot of BUF money?
