Despite the absence of NFL head coaches calling out other teams during press conferences or otherwise, problems indeed arose on Sunday.

“There were several communications issues yesterday as normal,” a league spokesman told PFT on Monday. “We are following up with the clubs.”

Communications problems are common. So common that it’s hard not to wonder whether the NFL doesn’t simply get rid of the communications systems entirely — or at least bring back the hard-wired system as a backup to the fluky wireless devices.

In other news on Monday Tomlin had called all the other coaches and offered them a tootsie roll if they blamed NEP for the comm failures

Steelers and their fans are absolutely pathetic.

They cry way too much.

When preparing for the Patriots, in addition to game planning and practicing, teams also spend an entire day doing nothing but brainstorming possible excuses for their inevitable loss that they will spout to the media.

It's amazing how far Ernie Adams can reach...

But seriously, when the Patriots had problems near the end of the Super Bowl in 2012, nobody used that as a complaint. I didn't even hear about it until last season, and only as a sidenote on how the team was preparing. They expected it, they prepared for it, they were ready for it. And when it happened, they didn't cry about it. This program is not built on excuses as BB says. And the Steelers program under Tomlin is.

I can't remember how many times I've watched non-Patriots NFL games and have heard the announcers casually mention that there were issues with the headsets

It's never been a big deal until Tomlin broke down in tears about it after the game Thursday Night

I'm wondering if this is how is going to be for the Patriots from now on. Whenever a team loses to the Pats they'll start *****ing about some insignificant event that happens in every NFL game

Rex Ryan was very upset about the crowd noise in Gillette Stadium. "We were having a lot of problems with our on-field communications when our offense was on the field" Ryan complained after the game. "Furthermore the sign operator was actually encouraging the crowd to make noise by flashing the word 'louder!' on the scoreboard. This seems to happen a lot whenever we're playing in Foxborough, and I think that the league needs to look into it"
