You might want to start watching the games.

Our starting center, starting RB and JoJo Lafell were out. For someone preaching "reality"....????? where are you?

Here's the news flash. The offense put up 37 points in Orchard Park last year against the same defense.

Also, does anybody around here actually watch the NFL?

The Steelers offense is notorious for what it did Thursday. Huge yards and can't score.

I'm going to have to disagree, that it is the "same defense", the Pats will be looking at a different scheme than they faced last season

Evers555, come back after the game on Sunday in Buffalo.

Thx...Will do. Win lose or draw, I like to talk football with knowledgeable fans. I used to get so angry when the Bills would lose but no longer do. Life goes on, and you hope your team bounces back.

Can't resist, enjoy your Super Bowl of yesterday. Always remain a supporter, I have been through some bad time with the Pats, but I won't give up.

......and who's scheme is it?..........and are you saying the Patriots have never seen it before?

Right, Rex's foundational principals and scheme may remain the same, but what Rex is able to do good, bad bc of players limitations, strengths and weaknesses differs with the Bills team. It's not the Jets, and it's not the Bills personal with Schwarz' scheme from last year.

Saying it's the same defense from last year is a stretch.

You are saying it won't give our offense problems?

You crazy!

If by "problems" do you mean I expect a punt on Sunday? Yeah..........I expect problems.

What is fascinating is that by combining a dominating 4-9 Rex with and equally dominating 1-11 personnel, it means all hope is lost. Why even play the game?

In football, past seasons really do not help predict future success. I have no idea what to expect on Sunday. What I do know is that Rex is a very good defensive coach, he has a lot of talent on the Bills defense, a lot of talent on the Bills offense, and he has his team fired up to face the Patriots on Sunday.

Week 2 of the NFL...anything can happen.

So what does that net?

Pre snap tackling?
Jedi 12 man packages?
Footballs deflating?

Will this challenge the forward pass as a revolutionary aspect of football?

Sacks.
Interceptions.
Low yards per carry.
Rattled Brady.

The usual when we face a dominant defense.

Just sayin', if you are confident we win this easily....I like your optimism!

Yeah...........so Rex has never been a very good defensive coach, had lots of talent, and had his team fired up to face the Patriots?

Well holy butt fumble. I'm glad that in SB XLIX, the Patriots only had to face that sissy Seattle defense.

That's where the problem lies........your concept of "usual" and the reality of "usual".

On occasion, opponents will deliver and execute a great defensive effort....SB XLII, Jets 2010 playoffs, Steelers 2011.

"Usually" these "dominant" defenses get out schemed and get "dominated".

How many "dominant" defenses got crushed last year as patsfans.com spent all week whining about such a "dominant" opponent?

What does the superbowl have to do with week 2?

Yes, great point, I don't expect us to get blown out, but I don't expect a walk in the park. E.g., remember the first four games last season? I expect it to be like one of those four games. None of 'em was pretty for us, even though we only lost two of 'em.

I expect the 22 to be the base offensive set early in the season just because that's how the talent lines up. That the Bills are Chandler's former team hardly factors in. That said, any Bills fan insight into Chandler would be most welcome. :)

I don't really expect BB to go with a single-plan offense as early as Game 2; this early in the season, he's still experimenting and still teaching. That said, this feels like a natural shotgun game to me. That doesn't mean 2 TEs + 2 natural slot receivers + a scat back all dancing around the middle of the field, while Ryan yet again floods that middle with defenders. Gronk and Edelman are both mightily dangerous outside the hash marks, and I don't think the Bills would have much joy straightforwardly single teaming either of them.

With a shotgun, of course, comes draw plays. I'm guessing that the young OL can "sell" the pass as needed; it's not like any opponents will yet know their "tells".

I don't expect a cakewalk either. If this team plays mistake prone football and gets out schemed....they will lose.

What history shows is in overwhelming numbers, the organization will show up with a better game plan and execute better.

I think this is a game where we run run run we need to punch that defense in the mouth i dont care if we are averaging 2 yds a run if we go one dimensional they will tee off on Brady .
Hope Blount shook whatever crap he had in the preseason we need him and Bolden to come thru with some big time runs.
We need to set up screens to Lewis and White and keep their defense on the field long clock milking drives.
We need to wear the d line down then run hurry up on them and 8 to 12 yd routes thats where we will be most effective we cant test their corners deep.

It's unknown if "run run run" is the game plan or not...but what makes me puke in my mouth every time is Josh Mcdaniels abandoning the run for an entire half because of less then average YPC for 2-3 consecutive attempts. We do a fantastic job of changing strategies on the fly...every team knows we revert to the pass at the drop of the hat...and obviously it's insanely successful. It would be interesting to try the unexpected and continue to force the run just a little bit longer then usual for once to "test the waters".

We will learn alot about the Bills this weekend, win or lose, we wont learn much about the Pats, we already know they will be there at the end of the season, contending for a title.

I agree we will learn mores about the Bills than the Pats this weekend, but I really think better gage in the marathon season come after week 8. I will say, the Bills don't look to be "pretenders" this season. Makes me wonder why the LOLphins are getting all the ink as the team that can contend in the division.

**** the bills, one win and they think their team is SB bound.
just visited the bills forum/read a few threads..talk about an arrogant bunch. holy ****..saw a thread where they all agreed that buffalo is a 14 win team ( lol )

rent's due *****es, and tom's collecting. remember bills fans, he's the landlord of ralph wilson stadium.
