One of our guys on the bills forums does this every week. As you guys get set for the game, you can see what our young QB did in his first NFL start Sunday.

Enjoy!

He did well, the OC called some plays to boost his confidence, he was looking better as the game went on. Anyway, the Colts defense is so hot garbage that I wouldn't read too much, anyway I think he can be the game manager Rexy needs without throwing 3 Ints per game like Cassel.

Yeah. He played alot better than Russell Wilson's first start. Color me encouraged so far.

Colts defense was terrible last year and they really did nothing to improve it this year. I expect the Patriots to mostly play 2-deep safeties to help protect against the dual WR threat.

Patriots DL must stay in their lanes and the LBs need to not over-pursue.

Lots of first read throws, including a couple he should have looked away from immediately. Keeps his head up when scrambling, but only got off one (bad) pass when doing so. Every other time he was forced out of the pocket he ran with it.

Rushing him leads to some scramble yardage, but he looks much more comfortable throwing from the pocket. I suspect NE will still play contain and try to be better at knowing who the first look will be.

Observations:

-Not too many throws down the field
-a lot of swing passes to McCoy and easy stuff over the middle
-He's seems slippery and alert but its clear when the rush is visible he'll look at it.

I see Bill coming with a lot of muddle rush and coverages looks. When pressure does come it will be from the A gaps trying to force him to step right into something or try and escape a collapsing pocket up the middle.

Tyrod Taylor will not be the reason the Bills win this game if they do.

Yep, they will try to force him to his 2nd or 3rd read...if he gets that far...That is the thing about being a first time starter, there is no tape....but, the spank bank is being filled and the more Tyrod plays, the more weaknesses will be exposed.

Thanks for sharing.

Putting on the gray hoodie and using a low voice...

I thought he played well. Nice long ball with touch there. Good with the check-downs. Tends to drop his arm angle a little so he needs to make sure he has good throwing lanes. He threw it into tight coverage a few times so he needs to be careful and a little better with the decision making on the run. Overall for his 1st start did a very good job.

Will be interesting to see how he does if he needs to chuck it 40 times.

This further validates that the Colts are quite possibly the worst tackling team ever.

True. But it was his first start and what can you realistically expect?
4 tds as a rookie qb in his first regular season game.

Just jokin, time will only give us the answer.

About what he did. There IS a reason he has been in the league for 5 years as a nobody. In a QB needy league 5 years is a lifetime. He'll face a much different animal Sunday, and an animal that faced a similar team mentality-wise in the biggest game of the year. This time, with no distractions.

I didn't see a lot of difficult decisions or throws as well as pressure was non existant (WTF were the colts doing repeatedly giving him easy throwing lanes??). But no doubt he did have a few nice ones. And a newby starter from a running program in college deserves big credit for playing within the calls, himself and operating an NFL passing game with nice precision.

HUGE test for him although the Patriots secondary is probably what he would like for game 2 test (unfortunately). Expectations were tempered last week. One excellent game and now the fans want the world and expectations are very seriously surging. Sometimes it just sucks to be the starting QB of a team that has been searching for success for a number of consecutive seasons (though that is a view from a distinct relativity).

I expect to win first and foremost, but TT will most likely play well. This will only give the Bills false hope like 08 before everything comes crashing down.

He looks like he can be a competent game manager, if a downfield game isn't a required part of the game plan.

A few more like that, and the Bills have gone from a 2 to a 5 for QB play.

He was a nobody for one reason, he sat behind a guy who never missed a start. Not saying he will be great, but no one knew how good ARod was gonna be either-He rode the pine.

Biggest take away from that video: IND is terrible at tackling, at least in that game.

That's what I got from the video also. The Colts D sucks. Looks like he will be prone to make mistakes playing a better organized D. I see some INTS coming our way.
