Its simply amazing what some claim to "know" as fact and are willing to not only state it out of their lips but to write articles saying so. Talk about complete arrogance by the media world these days.

And they act all indignant not only because they`re truly convinced the Pats have cheated right along since what? Since Kraft took over the Pats? But because they also think the Pats are complicit and therefor "arrogant" about their cheating ways.

Talk about irony. So in this patrticular article, the writer sort of tries to show all the self righteous human beings of the world that YES, perhaps most the Teams out there have cheated in some fashion at some point. Again, personally I am not so arrogant as to go along with that assertion.Yes we know of many examples of Teams cheating including the ones mentioned in this article and probably countless more we are not aware of.

But once again, this writer pretty much states as fact that the Pats stole Teams play sheets right out of opposing Teams locker rooms. This is a totally brand new claim yet it is being accepted as fact????

I know its fashionable to hate on Goodell and for good reason especially from us Pats fans, but allot of the Spygate ambiguity has fueled allot of what we hear and see today and that falls on Goodells lack of explaining in detail why the Pats were fined and what it was exactly that made it a punsihable offense.Burning tapes certainly did NO ONE any favors as well.

To this day almost 10 years later, not ONE person has ever explained how Spygate worked, let alone gave the Pats an egde in games. And as far as we know Brady and the Patriots never let air out of Balls, and yet look at all the cited examples of cheating we keep getting beat over the head with. All because Goodell did a crappy Job handling spygate.

The old saying seems to be holding true, say it enough times and eventually it WILL be accepted as fact. I have to say its disappointing to be human sometimes, people will believe just about anything and the Media knows this very well........Wish they would try to explain how the Patriots keep putting up scoreboard with "properly" inflated Footballs.

So if we cheated before Kraft and we're cheating now, then the teams must actually be good because you'd think the game+ differential would be fairly consistent and those Kiam teams must have been exceptionally awful. Though the '85 Bears certainly figured out what those Patriots were about.

Why not just put out a title Patriots are Cheaters, click me and pay $1.95 to find out how or dial 1-900-givemeS

If they are claiming that we cheated before Kraft, we must have been really bad at it.

I`m thinking the more common belief is since Belichick took over which just so happens to coincide with our winning.

Notice how no one is smart enough to attribute stability in our coaching staff or ownership as playing a part in our consistency for so long?

Many Teams have turnover in those areas, some on a regular basis. This actually plays a large part in how the Pats are able to be so competetive every year....but lets just go to the more easier **** for brains theory...its the Patriots cheating.

I have posted this before -every year, several players retire, are traded, or cut. I am sure that quite often this is not a pleasant experience. Why have none of them come forward and stated unequivocally that they have witnessed cheating? In the same vein, a lot of our coaches retire or move on too. Have any coaches testified that the Patriots cheat???

because Kraft pays them off in Mac and Cheese.....o_O

If one were to look at this as some type of experiment or test study, the big takeaway from all of this is the enormous amount of influence that mainstream media has on influencing the opinions the masses.

Outside of those who have an obvious reason to question the accusations (and as a result are portrayed as being biased and therefore are summarily dismissed), the vast majority are accepting what they are being told as being completely truthful and accurate.

The starting point in discussions about deflategate is that somebody let air out of the footballs, and then the next questions are 'who did it' and 'who knew about it'. In reality science has shown that the air pressure was right where it should be expected to be, meaning that it is highly doubtful that anybody let any air out of those footballs.

Instead of questioning why false information is being communicated to the public by those in power, the conversation instead then spirals from a lie to another rumor to wild speculation, with each piece of misinformation gaining credibility the more often it is repeated.

It is not unlike that exercise that some school teachers use in their class beginning with one person whispering a statement to the next student, and then the second student to the third, and so on until it finally reaches the final student in the classroom. At that point that last student repeats what they heard out loud, and it is compared to the original comment - and it is not even remotely close to the original statement.

The real story here is not about somebody deflating footballs. The real story is the power of the press, and how some in the NFL league offices have exploited that power in order to manipulate the opinions of millions of people. The fact that they could do so with what appears to be extreme ease is both very sobering and very dangerous.

I'm glad you posted that, jmt. The medium is the message...Marshall McLuhan

The phrase was introduced in his most widely known book, Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man, published in 1964.[1] McLuhan proposes that a medium itself, not the content it carries, should be the focus of study. He said that a medium affects the society in which it plays a role not only by the content delivered over the medium, but also by the characteristics of the medium itself.

McLuhan frequently punned on the word "message", changing it to "mass age", "mess age", and "massage"; a later book, The Medium Is the Massage was originally to be titled The Medium is the Message, but McLuhan preferred the new title, which is said to have been a printing error.

I`m thinking the more common belief is since Belichick took over.
There's a lot of dopes out there, a lot of dopey articles.

They all don't need their own thread.

Truth be told, I kinda got the feeling this particular write just started this article to get some shots in at Pittsburgh being that there is a rivalry with Cincy. But hey just throw the Pats into the mix to get your point across..its fsshionable to hate on the Patriots so lets go with it and cite non proven accusations as fact......sad just like BB said....sad.
