Surprised there hasnt been a thread on him. One of the biggest takeaways for me from thursdays game is that lewis looks legit as a third down back. He can catch the ball and make people miss and also can run the ball better than vereen ever could. He definitely has won the role.

Another steal by bill. He seems to pick up solid 3rd down backs from anywhere from faulk to woodhead to vereen and now lewis

Im curious to see if bill will run any 2 rb sets this year with lewis and white.

I liked Vereen, he made some clutch plays for us. I'll miss him.

But Vereen never quite made me forget about Woodhead. Lewis might very well do just that.
Perfect post.

If Lewis stays healthy he's Woodhead Plus.

Was really good, but while everyone pointed to his fumble as the one blemish on his day, I'd just as much point to the dropped pass on the last 3rd down that would have ended the game then and there. Brady looked like he was trying to flatten him with his eyes after that.

Woody had excellent vision. I still miss the little guy.
While most were pissed about Welker, I was pissed about losing him that off season . . . especially when I saw the contract he signed with SD. He has since been extended, but he balled out for them before injuring that leg.

It was a bad throw not a dropped pass.

Can't put that 3rd down pass on Lewis. Maybe he wasn't exactly where Brady was expecting but there was no-one around Brady could have done a better job.

As for the fumble. It wasn't the usual Ridley fumble we became accustom to. It took two pittsburgh defenders to strip it from him.

That was a dog **** throw to guy who's 5'6.

He was decent ...

But I'm not getting excited until he continues to do it with defenses designed to limit him.

I do not think he will better than Vareen, Faulk, or Woodhead this year ...

but he will be good enough and better in the future should he stay here healthy.

If a defenses are dumb enough to pick dion Lewis as the guy to stop, Brady is going to throw for 60 touchdowns

Brady is used to throwing to guys under 5'10"s

That makes it a good throw then? Makes sense. The best QBs still make rare mistakes. Brady put a little too much touch on that pass and a little too much on another to Edelman that would have been a TD if he flattened it out just a bit.

Things happen.

It was a bad throw regardless of the height of players he used to passing to. Give them that route 14 more times and he'll be 14/15 on it. He missed a wide open Edelman in the EZ of the SB as well, came back on the next series and nailed it.

As a runner he's already miles beyond 2014 Vereen. I know patience is a virtue, but I've already filed my application to join the Dion Lewis bandwagon. He's looked the same every time he's touched the ball and I see no reason to think there is anything flukey about it.

He looks good not only in 3rd down, but also the first two downs if we are in spread. It's early, but the guy looks like he's taylor made for our spread offense.

His first deal with SD was very modest. They could have used him in 2013.

The fact that Brady competed 78% of his passes for 4 tds and complaint about 3 passes that should've been completed? That's insane for Brady to be throwin that well and some think/ or he should of had completed 28 passes for a % of 87.5. That's insane!
