Eagles Owner Jeff Lurie Will Not Dismiss Cheating in SB 39

It's like running into your ex-GF from high school at a 20 year reunion. She has a couple of ****tails in her and *****es about the break-up.

Not that I would know...
I think most of us have been there...

Only a matter of time before they start accusing the Pats of poisoning McNabb's food before the game which made him sick.

The Pats "cheating" meme has now morphed into an urban legend that has swept the country, like bigfoot and UFO's. We need a Snopes page to track all of the accusations.

In addition to a team owner, Lurie is one of Kraft's neighbors and so-called friends. I am sure Bob feels great about putting his partners and his buddy Goodell above his team and its fans all these years.

This is what happens when you allow "journalists" to run stories with no proof other than a few anonymous sources. The damage that John Tomase did do this brand can not be understated. If spy gate were merely about the signals then I think we'd be past it now, but he opened up this pandora a box of taping the practices and no number of retractions is going to make that story go away. Now we have more baseless claims from anonymous sources about stealing playsheets and again this is never going away. When journalists don't have to be accountable for their stories this is what you get. It's also given all of the players, owners, and executives an excuse as to why they failed. They can say to their fan bases "hey it wasn't that we were out played and out coaches, they knew our plays."

Like I said the other day I watched Super Bowl 39s second half scoring drives and what I've always heard from Eagles fans is that we screened them to death because we knew the plays but when you watch the game film that doesn't add up. Just more whining and pandering to their fan bases. I hope the NFL will be happy when some patriots fan gets the crap kicked out of him at an away game because of all of this hatred they're brewing, because it's going to happen.

The cool thing is that none of these stories upset me anymore. As a matter of fact, it's turned into something I rather enjoy reading. I'm a fan of the KING, Top of the Heap, A-#1 NFL team that everyone HATES outside our fan base and I could not be any happier my friends!

PAH-lease keep them coming!! This is getting really cool man.

Here's what Lurie essentially said. "I have no proof that the Pats cheated, but I have no proof that they didn't either."

Here's the problem I have. Beyond the fact that this is an incredibly dumb statement that is devoid of any common sense. A statement a man of Lurie's intelligence or even someone with a 6th grade intelligence should embarrassed to make, the media picked it right up and its now all over the media being presented as a legitimate accusation.

It's an accusation that is impossible to defend. Maybe what needs to happen is to get Lurie to explain all those rumors surfacing on the internet about his wife beating problem, or mayhe that child molesting thing that I read about, or the fact he is cheating on his wife with underage girls. Then let HIM experience what it's like to try and defend himself from an impossible to defend accusation.

I don't mind just enjoying the hate and hearing the insane accusations the haters dish out. But when that s*** starts involving punishments even without wrongdoing (ruining Brady's legacy and attempted 4 game suspension, loss of draft picks, etc.) that is when it is impossible to ignore.

We know the league can lie and manipulate as deflategate showed and is willing to take it to court to uphold the lies. We also know the league has sour grapes over being embarrassed in court. All this **** coming out makes me wonder when the NFL will strike next.

I have to disagree because the camera placement fiasco and the response by Kraft to it was the foundation on which all the lies that followed are built. When Kraft caved and threw BB under the bus allowing Goodell and the New York media to label it a cheating scandal rather than a minor rules disagreement without any explanation or rebuttal by the Pats , the Pats reputation was trashed everywhere but New England.

The complete mythology about this continues until today when the recent articles making the taping of games seem like a horrendous violation when in fact it is legal now and was legal when the tapes were made except from the spot erroneously cited as the violation in 2007. Cheating AKA stealing of signals has never been a rules violation and is done today. The fact that the Pats used to legal actions more efficiently than other teams is not a violation of rules despite what Goodell said and what Kraft submitted to. The shame is that nobody believes the logical explanation.

All the lies that followed including Tomase's fabrication and the current witch hunt are given credibility due to the seminal event. The relationship between Kraft and Goodell has only worsened the impression so that the severest penalty inflicted on a team is ridiculously considered favorable treatment. However, the culmination of the abusive relationship has to be the pathetic acceptance of the ever more severe and unjustified penalties for a sham violation this year with the whimpering plea to his fellow owners for understanding No wonder, the public outside New England believes the Pats were wrong regardless of the truth when the team owner does not have the courage to stand up for the team.

Goodell and the NFL have declared war on the Pats and its fans and its propaganda machine ESPN will continue to roll out falsehoods. The Pats and its fans can no longer afford an owner who is to be kind a pacifist and by his actions does not even recognize the real enemy. Just give Bob a lifetime achievement award for keeping the team in New England and hiring BB and let Jonathan lead the war.

That's okay. We don't have proof the Eagles didn't cheat.

Agreed, you can only have so many ridiculous baseless cheating accusations before they completely lose their effect.

I never looked at it the way you stated before. This is a very good post.

MAYBE if they didn't play a WR weeks after breaking his leg (he did play well though)
MAYBE if they didn't have a coach who is historically bad at clock management
MAYBE if they didn't have a QB who wasn't so out of shape he puked

MAYBE they'd have won the game....

I made a slight correction for you. But your post is spot on. I guess it was also NE's fault that it took them four tries to make it to the SB too.

So, how long will it be until the "V" word is being used.......as in VACATE their titles.

This will be based on no proof of any cheating (other than taping signals from a no longer approved location), said location was approved up until 2006. Last time I checked, out titles were in the first half of the decade.

So, I repeat, no evidence, no facts, no proof at all, none, it's just not there.

However, the preponderance of accusations must mean it is more likely than not we must have done something, so strip them all.

Watch for it, I really think it's coming.

Don't we have video evidence of the Patriots being prepared to face all sorts of plays, and often the specific situations that come up during the game? Yet I'm supposed to believe nickle and dime packages would be a complete revelation? Or that NE would be shocked that Philly blitzed a lot?

These comments would be funny if they weren't so pathetic.

Isn't there a rule stating teams can't say things like this too?

Indeed. I just watched both America's Game and Do Your Job and clearly the Pats practiced (MULTIPLE TIMES) the exactly play that Butler made. BB has to be the most detailed coach I have ever seen. Even Sherman, in his defense of the Patriots, said that you can see tendencies if you watch enough film. It's true! But the brainwashing is too deep to get anyone to objectively think about these things at this point. It's a waste of time.
